Geekvape M100 Kit Reviewed

Geekvape M100 Kit Reviewed

Welcome to Geekvape’s next generation of Aegis products. While these latest bit’s of kit don’t actually have the Aegis name on them, they’re clearly part of the family, and the second generation of their various counterparts.
A little while ago, I reviewed their L200 Kit which is essentially Geekvape’s Legend 2, the next few reviews will be of the M100 kit (Aegis Mini 2) and the S100 kit (Aegis Solo 2). Having improved a bunch of general features from the originals, Geekvape have started rolling these second generation kits out as upgrades to their original counterparts.

Let’s take a look at Geekvape’s M100 (Aegis Mini 2) kit!

Big thanks goes to Geekvape for sending this directly through to me for review!

General Info & Photos

The Aegis range is legendary, and it’s going to take something equally legendary to top it, I think Geekvape have done just that. I lot of thought has gone into these latest kits, from larger wattage, and additional features, all streamlined into their familiar Aegis styling.

In short the M100 kit is a mod and tank combo, (Aegis mini2 + Z Nano 2 tank) featuring a small footprint, but some beastly specs. This kit is IP68 rated shockproof, waterproof and dustproof, with an inbuilt 2500mah battery, maximum wattage of 100W, e-liquid capacity of 3.5ml, with an 8.5Volt maximum output, easy fill and charge features, larger screen, all using Geekvape’s B Series coils.

The Body

The main mod is constructed of a zinc alloy chassis with that familiar leather heel, and trimwork around the outside. Containing a 2500mah internal battery, the M100 mod is no slouch, able to push through to 100Watts due to it’s 8.5Volt maximum output rating, which is quite surprising for such a small device, and equally small battery capacity.
2500mah won’t last you all day running 100Watts, but that’s not what this is designed for. It’s nice to have the option though.

From top to bottom, is your usual gold plated 510 connection with USB Type C charge port available from the top, hidden underneath the rubber flip cover. The front control panel has been revised with flatter buttons, giving a much cleaner look, and a larger vibrant display. Moving that charge port to the top has cleaned up the front a lot, making things a lot cleaner and more streamlined.
On one side is the all new ‘A-Lock’, which is a physical sliding switch that locks the device quickly and efficiently. No more clicking the fire button 5 times before you slide it into your pocket!
Underneath now has a rubber base, which is really nice, no more scratched tables or mod for that matter.

And while it doesn’t look like a rugged device, the M100 is in fact IP68 rated, shock-proof, dust-proof and water-proof, even higher rated that the previous Aegis devices.

Battery & Charging

The M100 mod doesn’t have the largest battery. The internal 2500mah battery hasn’t gotten any larger from the original Aegis Mini, but Geekvape’s latest chipset will help it last longer. On top of that, the USB Type C charge port allows up to 2A charging to make sure you get charged quick-smart. (and it does charge very quickly)
The charge port has been moved to the top of the device, hidden behind a water-proof rubber flip cover.
(Photo above is of the S100 charge port as I didn’t get one of the M100. Will update when I can)

Usage & Features

The M100 is a simple device, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have options! Various modes have been included to make this quite a versatile bit of kit. Wattage Mode, Bypass, VPC, TC-Ni, TC-Ti, TC-SS, TC-TCR are all here, and available at a button press.

Here are a few of the general commands:

  • x5 clicks of fire button to turn on/off
  • x3 clicks of fire button to get into mode settings
  • Up/Down to cycle through the modes then fire to select
  • Fire + Up = turn brightness of display up
  • Fire + Down = turn brightness of display down
  • Fire + Up + Down = Stealth mode
  • Slide the side switch to lock/unlock the device!

The Z Nano 2 Tank

I’ve looked at the Z nano tank previously in my Z50 Kit review, there’s really only been one noticeable update, the fill ports are a little larger, so you can get your eliquid bottle nozzle in there easier. The rest of the tank is much the same, taking 3.5mls of eliquid, top adjustable airflow, with a 2/3rd turn cap to expose the filling area.

This 22mm diameter tank is a reliable little champion, running plug and play Geekvape B Series coils to make sure you get a lovely dense and flavourful vape.

Any Leaks?

None, this is a top airflow tank, so no chance of leaking.

Pros:

  • Stylish and comfortable
  • Super simple to use
  • Excellent build quality
  • Fast charging
  • Buck/Boost for 8.5Volts / 100W maximum output
  • Perfect mod and tank combo

Cons:

  • Battery is only 2500mah, could be larger

Where to Buy:

As always, you can purchase directly through the Geekvape Online store, where you’ll be able to pick up the M100 kit for around the $88 USD mark. It’s on presale right now, but will be released very soon.

Conclusion

It’s nice to see Geekvape making improvements on their existing product ranges, and some of the changes made here, are well and truly appreciated, especially since most of them have to do with making the kit a lot easier to use, and streamlining the look and feel of it.

The only real con I’ve had with the M100 kit is the smallish battery size of the mod, being only 2500mah, but it does seem to last quite a while, and it’s always handy to have a smaller form factor for those smaller tanks. Actually, users of MTL tanks might like this setup, due to it’s versatile list of temperature control modes, and the 2500mah battery capacity will be less of an issue when running high resistance coils.

The Z Nano 2 tank is a perfect pairing for the mod, I’ve been using mine on around 40 Watts, and getting most of a day worth of usage before needing to recharge, which is quite good. There’s a lot to love about this kit, my favourite is the new “A-lock”, sliding switch on the side allowing you to lock the device quickly and easily.

All in all, I’ve found this quite a good little setup, and have preferred picking it up for outings due to it’s smaller size, while still having just as dense of a vape as larger setups.

Great work Geekvape!
