Wotofo Recurve v2 RDA Review

Wotofo Recurve v2 RDA Review

It’s been a bit since I reviewed any Wotofo products, but I’ve got a couple coming up for you over the next few days.
Today’s review is a remake of one of Wotofo’s more popular RDA’s, the Recurve. The original Recurve as well as this new release are collaborations between Wotofo and Mike Vapes.

Unfortunately, I have never tried the original recurve, although I have heard good things, so I’m going to base this review more on the merit of the new version as a whole, and how well it does it’s job. There’ll be little reference to the original version.

Let’s check out Wotofo’s Recurve V2 RDA!

Big thanks goes to Wotofo, who sent this out for the purposes of review!

General Info & Features

The Recurve v2 RDA is a pretty little RDA with nice aesthetics, minimal branding, and designed to not only match any mod you throw it on, but I think adds a touch of luxury to the look of your setup. That curve in the top cap really does give off a high end vibe.

Coming in at a decent 24.6×35.5mm in size, the Recurve, is a 5 part RDA, with Delrin 810 drip tip, 2 piece top cap, and an innovative postless deck that allows you to not only build either a single or dual coil, but also provides airflow inserts for both as well.

It’s mostly stainless steel with the exception of the drip tip, and airflow inserts, which are Delrin and I believe Peek.
You’ll all be happy to hear that it’s also hybrid safe, and includes a squonk pin in the box too!

The Deck and Build

There is a little bit of innovation going on in the new Recurve v2! From the outside it looks like any old RDA, airflow, 510 and drip tip. But once you open her up, you might get a little surprise. Wotofo and Mike Vapes have included an internal airflow insert. This insert sits atop the roomy post-less deck, and not only directs your airflow from the sides but also provides a more condensed chamber, and smoother transition for the vapour to travel, putting out a bunch of excellent flavour. They sit on the deck, lined up via the small holes and nubs in the caps.

This RDA caters for both single and dual coils, with the deck having a slight inner curve to it in order to direct squonked or dripped eliquid off to the sides where wicking ports are, which of course will hold a decent amount of eliquid for those who like to do large squonks and not smaller ones every pull.

Building on the Recurve v2 is super easy. Unscrew the side screws, place your coil, tighten them up and you’re done.
Wicking is just as simple, cut your cotton at a decent length, pull through the coils and let them fall into the wicking ports on either side. It’s best to try and get your wicks to touch the bottom of the wicking ports since the squonk pin inlet is underneath the deck. That whole area underneath that you can see in the pictures above, is like a pool of eliquid that both wick ends should be in, to soak up that tasty e-liquid.

Airflow

The airflow is quite clever, with the top cap taking care of the initial airflow and restriction of it, while the inner coil adapter that is placed on the deck spreads that air out further and aims it at your coils.

Adjustment of the inflow of air comes from turning the top piece of the cap, which offers up a stepped range of options blocking off one slot, two slots and everything inbetween.

Pros:

  • Great build quality
  • Innovative airflow design
  • Able to use single/dual coils
  • Hybrid safe
  • Squonk pin included
  • Coils included
  • Big delrin 810 drip tip

Cons:

  • Can get a little hot, when running at higher wattage

Where to Buy:

You can pick up the Wotofo Recurve v2 RDA directly through Wotofo on their online store. They have them for $34.95 which is a pretty good price if you ask me!

Conclusion

All in all I’ve had a pretty good experience with the Recurve v2, I don’t have anything to complain about at all, as it’s a really good all round RDA, able to take single and dual coils, with a nice smooth, and quiet airflow, and fantastic flavour.

Those coil/airflow adapters are simply genius and provide not only a smoother airflow, but a more direct route to the coils making sure there is some really good spread on that airflow coming in.

Is this a replacement for the original? I really couldn’t say, but by itself, it’s a banging RDA at a great price, thats super easy to build on, with fantastic smooth airflow and flavour.

Great work Wotofo and Mike Vapes!
