eLiquid Review: Valentina from Regency Vapour

eLiquid Review: Valentina from Regency Vapour

So far all of the Regency Vapour flavours have been fantastic, each of them very good, and I’ve found them to be well mixed, with plenty of flavour and of well layered profiles. There’s been “Raspberry Ice Cream“, “Raspberry Jam Donut“, “Grapefruit Gummi Bear” flavours and many more!

It’s no surprise really, anything affiliated with the HAKU brand is bound to be of the best quality, with countless hours poured into it’s development.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Valentina” from Regency Vapour.

“Malt Custard Tart”

The Review

If you’re into thick and rich desserts, you’re in for a treat today, because this one is super rich and full flavoured.

This “Malt Custard Tart” is just that, thick and creamy vanilla custard, smattered with malt and a light contrasting tartness that comes together to create this rich dessert that is not only decadent, but definitely a mouth full!

“Thick and rich, sweet and complex, this Malted Custard Tart is sure to get your tastebuds firing and your dessert cravings under control!”

Individual Notes

The custard is your usual Vanilla custard, thick and creamy, with a hint of vanilla that flows throughout the entire vape, carrying through as an undertone among the richness. Custard gives this one form, and gives this flavour that full and satisfying feel.

The malt that is in this bridges the gap between conventional malt, and an even richer dark chocolate vibe. Theres a lot of sweetness, and a slight bitterness, just like you’d get from a dark chocolate.
You’ll find that it can be a little dry at times, but the custard compensates leaving this profile feeling as though it’s a custard with malt powdered over the top.

The tart, really this is just a little bit of a contrasting tartness, but more in a milk form. It’s a little yoghurty, and not really something that the average vaper would notice, besides the resulting cheesecake or tart feel to the flavour on the exhale. It’s subtle and works really well against the custard and dark chocolate like malt.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll experience an that instant recognisable vanilla custard, light yet intensifying as the inhale continues. While this is happening, the malt appears and does exactly the same thing, building in flavour, emulsifying itself in with the custard to create a well blended custard/malt mix. It’s quite smooth at this stage, with a light bitterness floating in toward the end of the inhale.

At the top this bitterness is at it’s most noticeable stage, you’ll see that the malt takes on quite a dark chocolate feel against the vanilla custard, rich and biting, while the custard smoothes it out a little for quite a decadent middle vape.

As you exhale, this bitterness subsides and the richer properties of the malt blend with the custard, as the tart and milky yoghurt like notes appear. This is light, and you might not even notice it, which is great because I think too much of this would ruin that sweet custard in the background.

The tartness lightens again, as the smoother malt and custard engulf it along the way, leaving the rest of the exhale, quite sweet, chocolatey and smooth and full. This is definitely a robust, and flavourful mix!

Final thoughts

This is quite rich, and full flavoured, right up my alley! I love my rich desserts, and this one hits the spot nicely.

I did notice one thing however, after a while vaping this, you do begin to notice the dryer malt notes come through a lot more. It’s something I find a little too rich and wished were dialed back a little.

Despite that one little niggle, this is quite a tasty flavour, it ticks most of the boxes for a great dessert, texture, smoothness, sweetness, and has a complexity that is easily noticeable. A quality vape that has had a lot of time spent on it’s development!

Great work guys!

Where to Buy:

You can pick up all of the Regency Vapour range from the Regency Vapour Australia website, the Regency Vapour UK website, or from their many stockists.

Colour:

Honey Tint

Aroma:

Custard

Coil and wick damage:

Some darkening of wicks, but no real gunking.

PG/VG Ratio:

80VG/20PG

Texture:

Rich Dessert

Steeping:

A steep is recommended with this one.

Presentation:

Great regal looking presentation. I received dark tinted and clear 60ml Chubby Gorilla style bottles with childproof caps, and needle tip dispensers.

The darker labels with gold accents give things quite an elegent look, which matches with Regency’s scripted logo and general theme.

These have pretty minimal information on them, mainly, logo & brand, juice name, 18+, 0mg Nicotine, and a skull warning icon. I would have liked to have seen a lot more information on here.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
