eLiquid Review: Adriana from Regency Vapour

eLiquid Review: Adriana from Regency Vapour

Regency Vapour have been around a while now, both as an e-Liquid brand and also as a physical store. Created and developed by the behemoth that is HAKU, this e-liquid range is sure to be bound by their same mantra of creating and providing quality products.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Adriana” from Regency Vapour.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

“Grapefruit Gummi Bears”

The Review

I love straight up no-nonsense flavours, and this certainly is one of them!
Some combinations simply work and this is absolutely one of those too.
Grapefruit with all of it’s bitterness, tart citrus, creates a sharp and refreshing contrast, to the sweeter, thicker gummi candy that rides throughout this flavour.

It’s thick versus thin, lower volumous sweetness, versus sharper, pointed tartness that breaks through the stickiness to create a refreshing yet ultra sweet and a depth of flavour.

“This is an extraordinary example of contrasting textures, with every sense covered, from bitterness, to tart/sourness, and sweetness, Adriana is going to take you on a Grapefruit journey you won’t soon forget! “

Individual Notes

The grapefruit in this is lovely. There’s a little sweetness to it, a very noticeable citrus hit, that carries a little bitterness along with it, giving it a very refreshing feel. Definitely a citrus fruit flesh, no real zest to it, just pure grapefruit goodness.

Now I can’t leave out the gummy candy. The flavour and texture in this is exactly that, gummy candy. It’s candy sweet, a little sticky, and adds a little thickness to the flavour. Think sweet jelly, but with a stronger consistency.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll notice mostly the gummy candy, sweet and thick. A very syrupy and sort of chewy consistency. Things are very much sugary sweet leading up to the top of the inhale, besides a slight tartness coming through from the beginning of the grapefruit. It’s not a sharp tartness, more like a very dulled down sourness that peaks a little as it flows into the rest of the flavour.

Once you reach the top of the inhale, the bitterness hit’s its peak. Not a bad bitterness either, it’s quite a clean sharp bitterness, much like you get from a soda water or bitters. It’s accompanied by a very rich citrus hit too, which helps give it that fresh feel. Not quite orange, lemon or lime, but a blend of all three.

Once you’ve hit that peak and gotten your fill of the grapefruit, you’ll find the gummy candy pick up again on the exhale, continuing to strengthen throughout the exhale and bring back some of that sugary sweetness, pulling the bitterness into line to create quite a strikingly fresh candy finish.

Final thoughts

I really like this one. It’s a definite all day vape, something you can pick up and go, and you know you won’t get tired of it.

That bite from the grapefruit contrasting the gummy candy and creating that unique blend of freshness is striking and really makes this flavour something quite out of the ordinary.

I did notice a little darkening of wicks while vaping this, which is likely to be a result of both the sweetener and the citrus, but nothing too drastic, and the flavour is definitely not affected by it.

A job very well done here guys!

Where to Buy:

You can pick up all of the Regency Vapour range from the Regency Vapour Australia website, the Regency Vapour UK website, or from their many stockists.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Citric Grapefruit and sweet gummi

Coil and wick damage:

Some darkening of wicks, but no real gunking.

PG/VG Ratio:

80VG/20PG

Texture:

Fruity and sweet.

Steeping:

No steep required.

Presentation:

Great regal looking presentation. I received dark tinted 60ml Chubby Gorilla style bottles with childproof caps, and needle tip dispensers.

The darker labels with gold accents give things quite an elegent look, which matches with Regency’s scripted logo and general theme.

These have pretty minimal information on them, mainly, logo & brand, juice name, 18+, 0mg Nicotine, and a skull warning icon. I would have liked to have seen a lot more information on here.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
