eLiquid Review: Noni from Regency Vapour

eLiquid Review: Noni from Regency Vapour

Lately I’ve been going back over some of the e-liquids that have been hanging around for a while that I’ve not had a lot of time to get to.
I managed to dig up a few bottles from Regency Vapour that I received a while back that will be very nicely steeped and perfect to review!

If you haven’t heard of Regency Vapour, they have a physical store called “Regency Vapour Lounge” in Chippendale, over in New South Wales, as well as a UK representative also. This “Regency Vapour” range of eliquids are part of the famous HAKU brand which is synonymous with pure quality and high end products such as the HAKU Phenom/Cruiser RDA, Venna RDA etc..

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Noni” from Regency Vapour.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

“Strawberry Cinnamon Donut filled with Jam”

The Review

So you’re probably expecting something super sweet, sugary, thick and syrupy from this flavour right? A typical doughy cinnamon donut. Well, you’re kind of on the right track, there is all of that, but I think this one just that little bit more.

It could be that this one has had quite a long steep and I’m seeing more developed flavours come out of it, but I get some really nice rich dulce de leche or liquorice notes deeper in the strawberry jam and under the pastry, sort of like an underlying complexity that you might not normally see in a donut flavour.

“Noni, is a rich delight, full flavoured realistic strawberry jam fills this doughy vanilla pastry with hints of cinnamon and a licking of something even richer”

Individual Notes

The Strawberry in this flavour is quite a deep fruit. Realistic yet jammy, you could say that its less of that familiar sharp and tart slightly floral strawberry that you’d get from biting into a real one, but more sweet and syrupy like a preserve or a jam.

The donut is not quite as strong as I’d hoped and has a distinct vanilla feel to it. The cinnamon does a great job of creating the donut texture/profile, in the absence of any real baked goods notes.

I get a bit of a Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or a custard feel from this too. It’s not in your face or by any means the dominant flavour, but they are more there to help carry the donut profile along and give this flavour a little more depth and richness.

I’m not sure whether to believe it or not myself, but I notice a light liquorice or dulce de leche note in this one. It’s well blended and seems to appear just as the jammy notes are at their peak and the cinnamon and donut present themselves between the inhale and exhale. It could all be just a combination of flavours creating it, but I notice it all the same.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll instantly notice a light donut flavour that is quite basey and rolls through the entire vape. At this point rich jammy strawberry gradually works it’s way in as you inhale, sweet and syrupy, enveloping the donut creating quite a deep flavour profile.

This strawberry jam and donut combination reaches it’s peak at the top of the inhale, resulting in a very deep and dynamic dessert feel, giving off the illusion of a little liquorice or 3rd complimentary flavour that I can’t quite put a finger on. It could quite possibly be a dulce de leche or even the addition of some bavarian cream that is providing it, but its a rich note, something you’ll notice too, now that I’ve said something.

On the exhale the richness subsides a little, as the strawberry lightens and the sweeter cinnamon and donut notes strengthen again. The donut takes on a more doughy nature than it did before, carrying with it a robust dryness that works well in contrast to the strawberry evening out the vape right through to the very end of the exhale.

Final thoughts

A very nice dessert flavour! While this ticks most of the boxes being a rich dessert with quite an impressive strawberry jam, the donut notes didn’t quite cut it for me. I was expecting them to be a little more prevalent, instead this one felt like it was leaning on the strawberry jam a little too much.

Upping that doughy donut would put this right in the sweet spot, and push this flavour into the phenomenal category, because that strawberry jam is simply fantastic.

Overall a very nice job on this one, and a very tasty strawberry and jam donut!

Where to Buy:

You can pick up all of the Regency Vapour range from the Regency Vapour Australia website, the Regency Vapour UK website, or from their many stockists.

Colour:

Honey Tint

Aroma:

Cinnamon and Strawberry

Coil and wick damage:

Some darkening of wicks, but no real gunking.

PG/VG Ratio:

80VG/20PG

Texture:

Sweet and full textured dessert

Steeping:

A steep is recommended with this one.

Presentation:

Great regal looking presentation. I received dark tinted and clear 60ml Chubby Gorilla style bottles with childproof caps, and needle tip dispensers.

The darker labels with gold accents give things quite an elegent look, which matches with Regency’s scripted logo and general theme.

These have pretty minimal information on them, mainly, logo & brand, juice name, 18+, 0mg Nicotine, and a skull warning icon. I would have liked to have seen a lot more information on here.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
