eLiquid Review: Awesome Apple Sour from the Smoozie range

Welcome back, today I’ve got another overseas brand of eliquid that I’m taking a look at. I’ve reviewed a couple of flavours already from this range, courtesy of Apollo Ecigs. “Strawberries Gone Wild“, and “Wondermelon Berry Sour” were both punchy, sweet and packed full of flavour, more on the syrupy candy side than real fruits, but tasty none-the-less!

These flavours are brought to you by Apollo Ecigs, an impressive US based operation that also has offices and separate website in the UK to cater better for the European audience.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Awesome Apple Sour” from the Smoozie range.

Flavour Description

The Review

You can’t go wrong with apples! And this is one very apple driven flavour!
You’ll obviously be familiar with the sharp and tart, yet sweet and sticky flavour of the real thing. The fruit that punches you in the face with flavour intensity, and dare you have sensitive teeth, because it’s going to make you squeel!

Apollo have done an excellent job, recreating exactly that in this fantastic flavour. This one is flavour packed goodness, with all of the bells and whistles that a real apple will provide, except in e-liquid form!

Individual Notes

You’d be forgiven for thinking that this might be a pretty simple mix, but there are a few different apple notes in this flavour.
I notice no less than 3 different flavours used to maximise the flavour every step of the way.

On the one hand you have a sharp and tart realistic green apple flavour (this one is most noticeable). It’s fleshy and juicy, and you can almost feel the crunch between your teeth as you vape it.

On the flipside, you also have a smooth and sweet, textured finish, reminiscent of a red apple, or even a golden delicious, smoothing over the sharper green apple and providing more background and body.

Candy apple tones can also be found here, pushing the syrupy sweet feel and balancing the other apples out a little.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, that familiar apple sourness hits you pretty early on. It’s a sharp tartness that is both juicy, clean and sweet. Just like biting down on a green apple. Of course this intensifies even more as the inhale continues, right to the top, where you’ll experience the full force that this flavour has to offer.

If that intensity wasn’t enough to keep your tastebuds busy, as you begin to exhale, you’ll notice a slightly dryer, more textured apple come through, similar to a red or a golden delicious, sweeter, rather than tart, which smoothes out the green apple and provides a little more balance from that tongue tanging, bulldozer of tartness that hits you from the start.

As you relax into the exhale, sweetness swells, and turns the smoother golden delicious even sweeter, introducing a little bit of syrup texture, as well as some sugary candy sweetness. Tartness, and sweetness balance each other out right up to the end of the exhale, keeping an intensity that is not often seen in a fruit based flavour, but is very much welcomed.

Final thoughts

This definitely is a doozy of a flavour, a full on apple that will stop you in your tracks instantly! A full on flavour fest, that is not just punchy, but is well balanced across multiple apples, taking the best from each and creating this jaw dropping flavour.

This has been in my rotation for a while now, and let me tell you, is just as flavourful now as it was in the beginning. And a huge bonus, this is strong!
So if you’re looking for that bright, and explosive flavour that will satisfy even a POD vaper, you’ve found it.

I very much appreciate that Apollo have blended a few different apples here, it’s done this flavour justice, and just shows what can be done with contrasting/complimentary flavours, even of the same family.

The Smoozie range is elegantly presented. The clear labels on the clear bottles really give off a classy vibe!

I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla bottles for the Freebase range and 30ml Chubby Gorillas for the Nic Salt ranges.

All bottles are clear, with a matching clear label. Child proof sealed caps, and needle tip nozzles keep the kids out and make it easy to fill up with.

The labels are simple yet classy, with everything you might want on there, including: warnings, ingredients, juice name and branding front and centre, nicotine level, and other information.
