e-Liquid Review: BB Kiwi from the Fruit Monster range

e-Liquid Review: BB Kiwi from the Fruit Monster range

We’ve all seen that big brand “Fruit Monster” from the United States (made by Monster Vape Labs), what if I told you that they weren’t the only “Fruit Monster” in town?

Well, they’re not, we also have our own home grown Australian brand of e-liquids with the same name. According to good sources, our dinky di “Fruit Monster” actually got it’s name first, well before the larger US brand. Don’t let size fool you, this local range is top notch and a quality vape, so much so, I reckon it could easily compete with the big boys on the world stage.

“Fruit Monster”, the Australian version, was created by Luka from Big Boy Cloudz, who coincidently, is also the brains behind a few others such as “Vintage Cloud Co“, “Cloudz 4 Dayz” and “Dessert Man“.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “BB Kiwi” from the Fruit Monster range.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“A frightening combo of Kiwi fruit and Blueberries.”

The Review

This flavour is quite a popular one from this range, one of the more sought after and one of the highest selling from the entire line, and I can see why!

“BB Kiwi” sits on the sweet end of the flavour spectrum, tying in the lower subtle base notes of sweet blueberries, with the much taller and slightly acidic and tart Kiwi fruit leading the charge. It’s a syrupy fruit blend that is both full flavoured to pack a punch and blended so spectacularly evenly you might not even be able to pick the two individual fruits out of the mix!

“Sweet, full bodied blueberry and bright, tart kiwi come together to create this syrupy sweet blend”

Individual Notes

The Kiwi fruit is probably the most noticeable of the fruits. It’s the brighter of the two and has quite a sharp tang to it. It’s a realistic kiwi, right down to the sharpness, with no real candy nuances at all. It’s slightly acidic and very tart, the kiwi punches through the blueberry creating an almost sour feel to the vape, sweet sticky and full on!

The blueberry is the underachiever, acting as a background note. Lower sweet berry tones, bring much of the base texture and ensure the vape is full flavoured, while the kiwi rides over the top of it taking the flavour to a brighter feel. The blueberry is a little more candy than the kiwi, and adds a basey sweetness to the mix, rounding out the flavour and making sure the kiwi doesn’t get too carried away.

Inhale & Exhale

Surprisingly, the inhale and exhale are quite similar with this flavour. Obviously the exhale is going to be more intense, but that really is the major difference.

On the inhale, the blueberry sets itself as the thicker base background note, sweet and full, it’s not really that noticeable by itself, because the kiwi is also there from the very beginning, slowly building in strength on the inhale, getting more intense as you go.

Once this flavour reaches it’s peak, the kiwi has well and truly taken over as the main flavour, while the blueberry hangs back to provide a little support.
Its a very sweet and tart, syrupy profile, with the kiwi leading the charge in both flavour and strength.

As you exhale, at times you’ll notice the sweeter full berry notes appearing behind the kiwi, but it doesn’t last long before the kiwi takes back the reigns and drives on through with that sweet and tart syrupy finish.

Final thoughts

This is a great grab and go flavour, something you can depend on being full of flavour, sweet and fruity. One of those flavours that you just pick up without even thinking about it until you realise you’ve been through 3 bottles of it in the last fortnight!

I would have liked the kiwi to be a little less dominant, and get more of that blueberry background to come forward, the Kiwi gets a little tiresome for me. The tartness in the kiwi makes it a flavour that is constantly trying to get your attention, which makes me lose interest pretty quickly.

Having said that, it is a fantastic flavour and interesting to find that I’m having a hard time seeing the separation between the two flavours as I vape. Expertly blended to be a seamless experience, and Big Boy Cloudz have outdone themselves in this aspect.

Great work on this one!
