e-Juice Review: KSTRD by Wild Kraken

Welcome back folks, if you’ve been keeping an eye on me you’ll know that I’ve been checking out the latest from the Wild Kraken range of eliquids of late. Well, I’ve got one more left to review, and today is the day!!

Wild Kraken was created a few years ago now, and really only started with 2 flavours (BGR and Legos). Since then though, they’ve released 4 more with profiles such as Custard Cream (KSTRD), Glazed Donut(GLAYZD), Pipe Tobacco(LePipe) and Grape Bubblegum(HUBZ) bringing the range up to an even 6 flavours.

You’ll find each of these tasty offerings not only professionally blended but created with a flourish of style to create profiles that show off years of experience.

Inhale & Exhale

Straight away, you know this is a custard, even on early on in the inhale, you’ll notice that sugary sweet coating on your tongue, thick creams, and slightly eggy back-note that all custards have.
As always, it’s quieter on the inhale than further on in the vape, but as you do inhale, there is a rising richness that emerges out of the lighter creams, a slightly burnt, but sweeter caramel getting stronger and stronger as you get closer to the top of the inhale.

As the caramel rises with the creams, it reaches a crescendo at the top of the inhale, with a really sweet blend of extra sweet sugar, caramel, thick creams all with that lick smacking thick stickiness that makes for a great dessert vape, no longer just a simple custard, but a ‘Creme Caramel’.

Getting past the intensity of the inhale, the exhale doesn’t get any flavourless, in fact, the full impact of that flavour intensity sticks around right through the exhale, with only the smallest shift in profile.
The caramels get a little less rich, the sweetness drops a little, all making way for the smooth creams to come through washing over the whole mix, thickening the vape up for a lovely velvety finish, with an after-taste you can’t wait to get more of.

My Thoughts

A really well executed custard or should I say ‘Creme Caramel’, with peaks of caramel, a brilliant sugar, thick and sticky creams and a lovely light eggy background that adds a level of complexity.

I’m particularly fond of the fact that a little extra caramel was blended, making this custard a smidge richer than others on the market, perfect for those of us who love punchy and rich desserts.

If you love your custards, this one is a must try. Easily an all day vape and while rich, is not something that you’ll get tired of easily!
