e-Juice Review: Le-Pipe by Wild Kraken

We all tend to lean toward tobacco flavours when we are first transitioning from smoking to vaping, hoping that we can replicate that familiar experience across mediums. It doesn’t always work out, due to vaping simply being a completely different animal to combustible tobacco. Because of this, flavour makers really need to bring their ‘A’ game to make sure they’re giving tobacco lovers, something as close to the real thing as they can.

Throw in the fact that a lot of the tobacco concentrates out there, really miss the mark, and don’t even come close to being similar to the real thing, and Juice Creators, really do have their work cut out for them!

Fortunately, we know Wild Kraken always bring their “A Game” and don’t release flavours until they are 110% happy with them. So let’s see what they have for us today!!!

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale you’re instantly greeted with a sweet, smoky, pipe tobacco with quite an organic feel to it.
It is quite sweet to start with, rich with more of a honey/caramel type of sweetness, with an organic mid-range, and a slightly smoky feel to it.

As the inhale continues, the flavour intensifies, getting stronger the closer you get to the top of the inhale, as is usually the case.

Once you reach the top of the inhale, you’ll notice things change up a little. Right before a complete flavour shift, the more organic and sweeter notes peak, setting the stage for the shift and a completely contrasting exhale.

On the exhale instead of the sweeter flavours getting even stronger, the edge is taken off of them, they mellow. As they mellow the profile switches from the sweet and rich flavour that it was on the inhale, to a more mature, leathery, and smoky, almost dry pipe tobacco on the exhale.

Where you might expect the shifted flavours to intensify on the exhale, you’ll be surprised to find that they actually don’t. Instead, things get even more smoky, and refined, smoother if you will, with more of a creamy vanilla finish than the vape has been before. It finishes off with a slightly sweet, smokier, dustier, and mature tobacco profile, a little lighter to a pipe tobacco, but still carrying that familiar charm.

My Thoughts

This is actually a fantastic tobacco. While I understand there are always limitations with tobacco flavours, it’s always great to see e-liquid companies continue to improve on them, it’s definitely a profile that takes quite a bit of skill and knowledge to master, and Wild Kraken have done a great job with this Pipe Tobacco.

The organic vegetal notes are dialled back a little more than other tobacco e-liquids which is great, and replaced with a drier, more smoky profile. The drier nature of this one, helps accent the leathery finish and lighter, sweeter vanilla and caramel notes that come into play later on in the exhale.
