e-Juice Review: Rum & Coke from Hitman Vaping

e-Juice Review: Rum & Coke from Hitman Vaping

Welcome back to another e-liquid review.
If you keep an eye on my reviews, you’ll know that I reviewed most of the Hitman Vaping range a little while ago, with the exception of one, Rum & Coke.

I had prepared the review, and gone the full few days vaping it, but I just could not publish it in good conscience without checking with the vendor first, as I was getting an unusual flavour from it.

I don’t like to toot my own horn, but I do love my Rums and know what to expect from a Rum & Coke (I prefer lemonade if I’m going to mix).

Long story short, Hitman Vaping have sent me another bottle (big thanks to them) and now I can be certain, what I’m vaping is what you the end user will also be vaping.

Let’s take a look at “Rum & Coke” from the Hitman Vaping range.

(This e-liquid was kindly donated by Hitman Vaping for review )

Specifications:

Vendor’s Flavour Description:

Get the most out of minimalism with a straight forward, yet extremely flavourful Rum & Coke. Accented by a unique vanilla and two base rum flavours to bring this classic mixed drink to life.

Colour: Honey Tint PG/VG Ratio: 30PG/70VG
Aroma: Sweet Cola Texture: Fizzy and Sweet

Coil/Wick Damage: Some coil damage over time

Steeping: A little bit of a steep might be beneficial

Individual Flavour Notes:

  • Rum – Not your usual Rum, this is warm with a little bit of an alcohol bite, but the Vanilla and other flavours really do hide a lot of it.
  • Cola – The cola is quite good when I can get a good hit of it, it’s a bright cola with all of the right notes in there, perhaps a little more on the ‘cola bottles candy’ side of the flavour spectrum, but a good cola none-the-less.
  • Unknown – There is a real unknown texture here that doesn’t quite sit well with me, its a creamy/powdery sensation, much like you’d get when vaping a peppermint or something stevia based.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale starts out pretty good, it’s quite a unique flavour that seems to push a Rum out at you, a blend of spices that mimics the flavour of a Rum.
The tricky part here, is Rum can mean a lot of different flavours to different people. The sweetness is there, the vanilla is there, a light caramel is there, the general alcohol feel is there, so generally speaking, a Rum flavour. What I didn’t expect was an extra texture/flavour in here with the Run and coke.

I pick up a strange texture, it’s similar to what you get with an e-liquid tha thas stevia or peppermint, it muddle things a little and gives off a bit of a thick powdery vibe.

Anyway, moving on, through to the top of the inhale, I notice the Cola working it’s way in, and it’s a really nice cola, a little like cola bottles, but brighter, and sweeter without the sour touch. It’s held back a little by the powdery texture, so it doesn’t quite come through very clearly, but it is there, and on a higher wattage, gives a nice solid Sweet Cola flavour.

As I begin to exhale I notice the Rum on the tip of my tongue and that nice sweet and strong cola, along with a kick of vanilla starting to take hold. The further I exhale however the more that powdery texture appears. The vanilla is likely encouraging it a little, and instead of a nice smooth cola on the exhale I’m presented with a kind of chalky creamy cola washing over the vape.

An interesting blend that I didn’t really gel with. It’s gotta be a pretty difficult blend to get right!

My Thoughts

Unfortunately, I really cannot shake that strange flavour, it not only affects the flavour but the texture of this one also, giving it a much drier, chalky feel to the vape.

There are moments where I get a decent cola coming through, but few that I notice the Rum, instead I notice the Vanilla a lot more, no real Rum note to be seen.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a nice flavour, something that I could absolutely vape all day, but it’s not a clean Rum & Coke. If it were described as a creamy cola with spicy accents, I could totally get behind it and it would have gotten a much better score.

All things considered, and taste-buds being what they are, you might get a “Rum & Coke” out of this one, I may not have landed on it, but you most certainly might. If not, it’s a nice sweet vape anyway. So if you’re looking at getting some of this, please do, you should enjoy it either way.

If you have tried this flavour, please leave your thoughts in the comments below, I’d be interested to see how others would describe this flavour!
