eLiquid Review 497: Sinatra from CrackerJack eLiquids

eLiquid Review 497: Sinatra from CrackerJack eLiquids

This week has gone really fast, and we’re already onto the 4th of the CrackerJack eliquid flavours.

All of them have been tasty desserts and true to the claim, of more refined and adult profiles. This range bravely brings whiskeys, bourbons, rums and raisons, butterscotch and caramels into the mix for that truly decadent experience.

Today’s flavour fits in with the rest of the pack, with it’s smooth tones and subtle flavor melody, let’s see how it goes.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Sinatra” from CrackerJack Eliquid.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]

“A Whiskey & caramel butterscotch pudding, perfect for after dinner. It was a well-known fact that Frank Sinatra was rather fond of the odd whiskey. This creamy butterscotch mix is made to be enjoyed with a glass of your finest single malt, neat.

This line was carefully crafted to be not too sweet, but definitely not savoury. Flavours aimed at the adult palette was my goal, something sophisticated with a touch of luxury. What started as a hobby has grown into a passion for high-quality flavours that don’t rely on sweeteners to make them taste good.”

The Review

This one is very hard to review, there is a lot going on, and it’s such an unusual profile. The whiskey is a little more pronounced than the Bourbon in “Oscar“, and you’ll notice that it affects the other flavours in this mix the more you vape it.

I’d describe it as a very clean, fruity whiskey, with a light but decadent caramel and butterscotch background, a thick robust cake/pudding mid range, washed over with just enough whipped cream to create a nice thick dessert that you can vape all day, enjoying the various flavours that present themselves throughout the vape.

Individual Notes

Let’s tackle the whiskey first. It’s an intriguing note in this because it doesn’t carry that full on alcohol feel, and really zero peatiness. I expected even just a little earthiness, instead it is a little smokey, with fruity undertones, almost citrus in nature.

The butterscotch and caramel are quite light. I suspect added fairly delicately to avoid them over powering any of the other flavours. They blend right in clinging to the smokiness in the whiskey with their toasted tones, and sugar sweetness.

The pudding. There is only a small mention of this in the description, but I notice this quite a lot in the mid range of the flavour. It has a cakey consistency, richer than you’d expect, very robust and takes on quite a tiramisu feel, due to the whiskey in this flavour.

And backing everything up I suspect is a little cream, not enough to blow past the other flavours, but just enough to strengthen the dessert profile and give a thicker texture to the vape.

Inhale & Exhale

Hold on to your taste buds, because this one is going to be a little complex, and there are a few points of flavour crossover, that CrackerJack have cleverly taken advantage of in this one!

At the beginning of the inhale, a warmer instant dessert profile will grab you, mainly consisting of the butterscotch, caramel, and cream, this mixed blend sets the stage for the rest of the vape, this one is going to be creamy! Slightly burnt sugar, not so sweet cream, more of a whipped cream, light and fluffy and rich caramel syrup, create this initial flavour, and boy does it work.

As you continue, all 3 of these flavours rise a little in intensity, not to a strong crescendo, more to a warm and thick support for the flavours to come, the butterscotch is barely noticeable while the caramel and cream seem to be more dominant, if not on the flavour, but the texture at this point.

Hitting the top of the inhale, the whiskey begins to make an appearance, it’s a short sharp and shiny introduction, as it enters quickly, rather than over the full span of the inhale, and hits it’s own sharper pitch, a little smokey, and quite fruity, this whiskey comes in clean, with very little alcohol feel, but an unmistakeable smokey finish.

You’re on the exhale now, and as the whiskey has hit it’s peak, a cakiness, the pudding makes an appearance. It’s not unusual at first, as the flavour works so well, but you’ll find yourself looking for it later. Wondering if that really as a little cake you tasted. Blended with the whiskey this pudding is a robust bakery blend, that comes across as very tiramisu-ish, a whiskey infused pudding.

Toward the end of the exhale, you’ll find the pudding fall back into line a little as the creams, butterscotch, and caramel intensify just a little to envelope it and the whiskey, rounding off any rough edges, and bringing home the vape with a lovely smooth blended finish.

Final thoughts

A really very nice flavour, it blends a not often used profile with proven desserts to create quite an interesting mix.

As with the rest of the Crackerjack line, this won’t punch you in the face with sweet flavour intensity, instead, you’ll get a much softer vape imbued with decadent dessert tones and a complexity that is off the charts.
Despite the aim of these liquids, I would still like to see their flavour percentage pushed up a little, while they are all great complex flavours, that’s not going to get you very far, unless you can taste every nuance in them.

All of the Crackerjack line, I feel, get more justice through a tank or smaller RDA, the flavours seem to sing with a restricted chamber, where each note can richen and thicken with a warmer vape rather than with a cooler wide open airflow. If you pick this range up, don’t be afraid to throw them in a smaller chambered tank, or a restricted airflow RDA for best results.

All in all, I’ve probably enjoyed this range much more than others, it really is my bag, because I prefer a more subtle approach to mixes myself, and appreciate the finer, decadent blends. If you’re like me, jump on it, put your feet up and take long deep pull on some of the best dessert profiles around 😉
