eLiquid Review: Lemon Meringue from the Dessert Man range

This week, I’ve had the pleasure of checking out the “Dessert Man” range available through Big Boy Cloudz, and I do have to say, they’ve all been wonderful. Surprisingly full bodied, with quite a tasty cream, each of these desserts carry the same base, yet, are delicious in their own ways.

Today’s flavour has had a pretty strong following with fan’s calling it one of the best “Lemon Meringues” out there, let’s see what all the fuss is about!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Lemon Meringue” from the Dessert Man range.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

The Review

This one is another hit from Big Boy Cloudz! Just like “Key Lime Pie” and “Tarte A L’orange” before it, “Lemon Meringue” has that same unmistakably sweet creamy base. Thick in texture, a little sticky, but light as air, so much so that it allows fruits to shine through it rather than be overcome by it.

This time around, there is a much stronger meringue, and a lemon that starts out quite bright, that quickly dulls and turns to simply add a tart twist to the profile.

A very tasty flavour with quite a realistic take on the ol’ Lemon Meringue Pie!

“Thick sweet creams drive this dessert, while sticky marshmallow meringue and biscuity cheesecake lay a perfect base, a sharp lemon twists this into a full flavoured and textured profile.”

Individual Notes

The creams as mentioned earlier are delightful, very much like the creams in the other flavours from this range. Sweet, thick and sticky, very marshmallow like, however with this one, they are even stickier, mimicking a meringue quite well!

There’s a biscuit base here too, not overly potent but it’s there. A little bready, more moist than dry, very much like a cheesecake or a pie base. It’s also a little more on the sweeter side, definitely not a savoury!

The lemon is tart yet sweet all at the same time, the tartness cutting through the creams and the biscuit base, which then warms a little and follows through the rest of the vape with a kind of sweetness you’d get from a stewed or baked fruit. Smooth and fruity!

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, just like the other flavours in the range, I notice the creams first, sweet and thick, with some stickiness just to help carry the flavour.
As I inhale, a little lemon begins to blend with the creams, lightly at first, and not quite cutting through, but adding just a little bit of a citrus note to them. With it, is a touch of the biscuit base, not particularly noticeable but is definitely there.

Once I get to the top of the inhale, the lemon becomes more intense and changes, adding a brief tart sharpness just as things hit their peak. At this point there is quite a depth of flavour, seemingly complex, warm and sweet, it strikes out past the creams and biscuit before quickly settling down again.

As I exhale, that sharper lemon subsides and washes back into the creams, adding to the warmth that the creams and biscuit base provide. It’s at this point I notice that this combination also creates quite a strong meringue feel, a little sweet and sour at the same time, with that delightfully thick cream texture.

The strength of the meringue, lemon and creams continues right out until the end of the vape, supported by the lighter biscuit base. This is quite a creamy exhale!

Final thoughts

This most definitely is one of the best Lemon Meringues that I’ve tried. All of the elements are there, thick sticky creams, a sweet biscuit base, and the lemon shining through the rest with it’s tartness, all the while being warm and desserty.

I really like the extra meringue in this one, it’s there in the other flavours from this range, but not quite on the same level as this. You definitely ‘know’ this is a meringue!

One thing I will mention is the Biscuit base. While it’s there and it performs it’s intended task, punching through the creams and meringue, I’m finding that it does so with less impact that I would have liked. Just that little bit of extra breadiness, would make a huge difference. A small thing of course!

Definitely look this one up if you’re looking for a new dessert flavour to make your all day vape, because once you try this one, that’s exactly what it will be. Your next all day vape.

Well done guys, a great flavour!

70VG/30PG

Awesome packaging with this range. I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with child-proof, sealed caps, and needle tip dispensers. One great thing about these dispensers is the needle tip actually unscrews so that you can easily top your bottle up with nicotine instead of popping the cap off. Too easy!

The labels are great too, a mixture of lighter faded out imagery and white, with a chef like character on the front with related fruits and desserts. The logo and flavour name and front and centre, with all of the important information provided. Bottle size, Ingredients, Warnings, and where the juice was manufactured.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
