eLiquid Review: Key Lime Pie from the Dessert Man range

eLiquid Review: Key Lime Pie from the Dessert Man range

Welcome back to another tasty e-liquid review!

The other day we looked at “Dessert Man”s “White Chocolate Fondue”, created by Big Boy Cloudz, and that was one tasty juice, today I have another for you!

Keeping in with their “Dessert” theme, I have something with a similar creamy texture to the last, but with a zesty sweet lime in the mix.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Key Lime Pie” from the Dessert Man range.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

“A Key Lime Pie with depth!!! Absolute cracking juice!!!”

The Review

There are a tonne of Key Lime Pie’s on the market, everyone has one, and regardless of which e-liquid company you go through, they’re all pretty good. Creams, biscuit base and a little bit of lime that somehow magically turns things into a robust cheesecake inspired magical flavour. It’s just something about the flavour combination that has a high impact. Similar can be said about the usual Lemon Meringues. A little lemon, some cheesecake and cream, and you’ve got a pretty solid vape, they’re forgiving flavours with a heap of room to move when flavour blending.

Big Boy Cloudz aren’t just any e-liquid company though, and they work long hours to make sure everything is just right. Great textures, blends that are carefully mixed to ensure maximum intensity, using complimentary flavours and supporting notes. All of these things are not only reflected in the “Dessert Man” range, but also in this fantastic Key Lime Pie.

“Key Lime Pie is an exquisite example of blending done right. Smooth creams, light biscuit with a sharp yet sweet lime that punches through the mix creating a very deep profile. “

Individual Notes

The creams really make this flavour. Sweet Cream, Whipped cream and what feels like Marshmallow, combine to create a light, yet sticky cream combination that is light in the beginning but really comes into it’s own later on in the vape, and acts as a fantastically thick support for the other flavours.

There is some biscuit base, or cheesecake base here, and while it doesn’t steal the show (that’s left to the lime), it’s a very rounded and solid background flavour, helping to give this flavour a lot of low down depth.
I’m finding that this is much more of a moist, cheesecake base, than a biscuit, with rich tones, yet held back in intensity to allow the creams to really shine.

Last but not least is the Lime. Somehow Big Boy Cloudz have managed to make this citrus lightly acidic and tart, whilst still retaining a level of sweetness. Sometimes I notice an element of lime cordial, and others a freshly squeezed lime with a little bit of sourness to it. This is one of those flavours, that can be pretty flexible and conform to the flavours around it.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, it’s all creams, the sweetness from sweet cream, the airiness from the whipped cream, and just the tiniest bit of stickiness that only a marshmallow can provide. All of them are of course, light at first, gradually getting stronger as the inhale continues.

Toward the top of the inhale, I notice a wash of sweet lime appear. At this point its a little saturated out by the creams, and more of a tint in the creams, than a flavour all it’s own, but it is sweet, very much like a lime cordial, and it blends well.

This all flips when I reach the top of the inhale, where the creams hit their peak, and the lime turns with a little sharpness, showing me it’s true range of flavour. The versatility of this lime is amazing, from sweet to sharp citrus in a pinch, taking on two profiles, and mellowing out again on the exhale.

As I exhale, the lime drops off a little, falling back into the creams, while a hint of cheesecake base, or biscuit appears. It’s a moist base, not a dry crumbling pastry, but it does carry the flavour of one.

Testament to these guy’s mixing abilities, this biscuit base doesn’t overtake anything, instead, provides a fantastic blend of rounded flavour that contrasts so well with the creams and lime, giving them support and depth.

Final thoughts

Absolutely fantastic work here. This particular Key Lime Pie, has depth, character, sweetness, tartness, full textured biscuit all washed over with a pleasant thick cream blend. It’s all tied in so well, it’s any wonder that this flavour has seen such fond support from customers!

Any issues? Would I change anything? Absolutely not!

This flavour is right up there among my favourite dessert mixes, and I’ll definitely be getting stuck into some more once this bottle is finished!

Excellent!

Creamy Key Lime Pie

No noticeable damage to wicks or coils.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Silky smooth and creamy.

A steep is definitely recommended for this one.

Presentation:

Awesome packaging with this range. I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with child-proof, sealed caps, and needle tip dispensers. One great thing about these dispensers is the needle tip actually unscrews so that you can easily top your bottle up with nicotine instead of popping the cap off. Too easy!

The labels are great too, a mixture of lighter faded out imagery and white, with a chef like character on the front with related fruits and desserts. The logo and flavour name and front and centre, with all of the important information provided. Bottle size, Ingredients, Warnings, and where the juice was manufactured.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
