eLiquid Review: Coconut Trifle from the Dessert Man range

eLiquid Review: Coconut Trifle from the Dessert Man range

Ok folks, we’ve come to the end of another awesome Aussie juice line!

This time I’ve reviewed 5 flavours from the Dessert Man range from Big Boy Cloudz, (that’s all there is at the moment) and loved every single one of them.

There’s some pretty high scores among this range, and it’s for good reason. Every single flavour has impact, is well blended, and just has that pop, a combination of great flavour and a genuinely deep profile.

This review focus’s on the fifth of the range, a slightly different flavour than the rest, but equally tasty.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Coconut Trifle” from the Dessert Man range.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“Coconut, Pear & Raspberry Trifle. An absolute Trifle Delight!”

The Review

Trifles. An oldy, but a goodie! Typically softer sponge fingers, a bit of cream and some fruit, all dished out in layers, to allow that initial separation and then to enjoy them all coming together as you bite down on this sweet and creamy dessert.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been a big fan of the Trifle, probably because the ones that I’ve had have been much more tropical, or involved fruits that simply don’t push my buttons, until today 😉

This one, I can gel with. Raspberries, Pears, and Coconut. Two of those are probably my favourite fruits ever, but interestingly, I’ve never tried them together, so that’s a first, and blended with coconut? It actually works, it really does. There is a contrast of flavours here that creates quite an interesting vape. It has an unmistakable flavour that will have you smiling and quietly giving the makers of this flavour an inaudible “Well done, hat’s off guy’s!”.

“Coconut Trifle is sweet and deep raspberries, acidic yet sweet pears, and an underlying coconut that bridges the creams, and helps deliver a cream to fruit contrast that’ll get your mouth watering!”

Individual Notes

The raspberry is as always, sweet and tart, quite deep and heavy for a fruit, and is what ultimately provides that nice jelly feel. It cuts through the cream and coconut, pairing with the pear to create a fantastic dynamic.

The pear. I’ve tried to notice it, but I just can’t pick it out, it’s so well blended with the raspberry, and this unique blend creates a whole new level of flavour, that the basic pear is lost to the mix as a single flavour.

The creams and coconut are brilliant together. A sweet and creamy blend that is not heavy, but carries a lot of impact. Soft and fluffy, sticky and full bodied, it makes for a fantastic back drop.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I notice mostly the creams and coconut. All quite sweet from the beginning and quite light and fluffy. I suspect there is a bit of marshmallow in there helping the creams along. The coconut is a sweeter coconut, a little candy-ish, not completely though, it has traces of realistic coconut also.
The coconut creams intensify as the inhale continues right up until the peak of it.

It’s at this point, this profile is joined by the raspberry and pear. Not enough to give the full dessert profile away however, only a light dusting of fruitiness that swirls through the creams.
As the peak of intensity hits and I begin to exhale, the raspberry is at it’s strongest, really punching through those creams, thanks to the pear, with a jelly-like consistency.

This jammy jelly intensity doesn’t last too long, as the raspberry and pear fall back into the creams as the exhale continues, washing back that fruity intensity and letting the coconut cream envelope them once again.

The rest of the exhale, is a wonderful blend of raspberry jam, and pear, swirling through a sweet thick coconut cream.

Final thoughts

Another great flavour from Dessert Man. This one is distinctly Trifle, with the fruits easily separated from the coconut and cream, creating a jelly like consistency, all the while allowing the creams to wash over everything in a way that doesn’t dominate, but accentuates the existing flavours.

If you never knew the flavour profile of this one, you’d get it straight away on first toot. Perhaps not the exact flavours used, but you’d guess a Trifle, and that’s a pretty big thing, when it comes to e-liquids.

I’ve enjoyed this one even more than I thought that I would, considering my aversion to coconut, it rocks, and definitely deserves a look, when you’re lining up your next flavour purchase.

Well done guys!

You can pick up all of the Dessert Man range from the Vapen Online Store, or from their many stockists.

Light Honey Tint

Aroma:

Coconut Cream

Coil and wick damage:

No noticeable damage to wicks or coils.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Texture:

Silky smooth and creamy.

A steep is definitely recommended for this one.

Presentation:

Awesome packaging with this range. I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with child-proof, sealed caps, and needle tip dispensers. One great thing about these dispensers is the needle tip actually unscrews so that you can easily top your bottle up with nicotine instead of popping the cap off. Too easy!

The labels are great too, a mixture of lighter faded out imagery and white, with a chef like character on the front with related fruits and desserts. The logo and flavour name and front and centre, with all of the important information provided. Bottle size, Ingredients, Warnings, and where the juice was manufactured.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
