eLiquid Review 341: Lemon Lime (The Fifth) by GDR Vape

eLiquid Review 341: Lemon Lime (The Fifth) by GDR Vape

Yesterday, we had a disaster of a juice from GDR Vape, it was packed with sweetener, didn’t hit the mark on the flavour front and you saw me express my concerns over this juice line.

Well, today I’m back to review the second of “The Fifth” range, this time around, it’s something that should be hit out of the park.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Lemon Lime” from “the Fifth” range by GDR Vape.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor)

The Review:

After yesterday’s review, you’re probably wondering why I’m continuing to review each of the flavours from this range. I believe each flavour should stand on it’s own merit, after all not every flavour is going to be good, but there just may be a few gems in here.

Today’s is in fact an improvement on the last review, “Lemon Lime” is a mix of sweet yet sour lemon and lime, very reminiscent of an old school lemonade Icy Pole, ice block.

Individual Notes

The lemon is unusually sweet, rather than being sour or tart. It is bright and adds a little bit of fizz, and a nice lemonade tone.

The lime is the sour note here, it hits you on the exhale, adding an extra level of complexity to this already lemonade like flavour.

Together, the lemonade and lime notes create a tasty lemonade icy pole flavour, you’ll remember from your childhood.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, the lemon or lemonade is the primary flavour, in fact, this is the primary flavour for the majority of the vape. It’s sweet sugary with a little bit of fizz, but not quite a lemonade soda. Instead it creates the base for a lemonade Ice Block, it has that unique taste that you’ll instantly recognize.

As it rolls onto the exhale, the lemonade continues, intensifying in intensity, until I get about halfway through, suddenly a sour or tart lime kicks in just to break things up a little. It provides a nice contrast, but doesn’t take away from the primary note. It’s at this point the cooling agent also kicks in filling your mouth with a cooling sensation that chills you to the bone.

This is still quite a sweet juice just like yesterday’s review, plenty of additional sweetener has been added, as well as a tonne of cooling agent. No less than the last flavour, so when I say that this is a lovely tasty flavour, it is, until my wicks and coils get gunked as quickly as within a few hours, and there is then an underlying burnt note coming through with every vape.

Final thoughts

All of my warnings for yesterday’s juice still stand for this one, however this is a much tastier flavour, and pretty close to a spot on lemonade Ice Block. Keep in mind that the great flavour will only last so long. If this still sounds like something you’d like, please do give it a try, but be careful, it packs a punch, WILL trash your wicks and coils, and probably give you punch in the face with it’s overly chilled cooling agent.

Where to Buy:

GDR vape have their own website, I won’t link you to it though, as I have some real concerns about this range, and my moral compass tells me to not make it easy for people to purchase.

Colour:

Tea color (Im not certain if this one contains food coloring, but I suspect so.)

Aroma:

Lemon Lime

Coil and wick damage:

This will undoubtedly destroy your wicks and gunk your coils within hours. Probably one of the worst cases I’ve seen.

PG/VG Ratio:

This is supposed to be 70%vg/30%pg but instead has the viscosity of water. Something isn’t right here!

Texture:

Sugary Sweet Ice Block

Steeping:

You could, but I doubt it would improve this flavour at all.

Presentation:

Fantastic presentation. This is actually one thing they have gotten right with this liquid. I received 60ml chubby gorilla bottles with childproof caps. The labels are colourful, with all of the information you might need except for the pg/vg ratio. (although that is a pretty big thing to miss!)

Caveat Emptor: These eliquids all contain food coloring also.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
I haven’t tested in anything else, as changing wicks in this 4 times per day is enough mucking about for me.
