e-Liquid Review: Double Custard Creme Brulee by Saloon Juice E-liquid

Welcome back folks, it’s been a busy few weeks here, preparing for Christmas, as well as trying to get on top of things, but among all of that, something really cool has come through that I just had to jump on.

Today’s review is going to be of a collaboration juice, yep, these two companies have come together to create this awesome release. The recipe comes from the talented EZY Eliquids, which you’ll likely know from their “Mango Nectar” and “Snozzberry” flavours, whilst the branding and production is the work of Wild West Vapers.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Double Custard Creme Brulee” from Saloon Juice E-liquid.

The Review

Testiment to EZY Eliquid’s mixing prowess, this is a spot on thick and creamy Vanilla Custard Brulee! It ticks all of the boxes, and was a warm welcome away from the fruity blends that I’ve been vaping lately.

This flavour is a rich dessert through and through, sweet, creamy, bold and familiar, with smokey caramelised sugar and vanilla accents adding to an already decadent base that drives home quite a depth of flavour.

Individual Notes

The Vanilla Custard is obviously going to be the main note here, it’s your usual run of the mill vanilla custard, slightly eggy, with silky smooth sweet cream. As with most vaping concentrates, this one is a little lacking in the egg side, instead offering a more artificial version (a little nutty).

A Brulee is of course caramelised sugar, broiled over the top of the vanilla custard, to add a little rich sweetness, and a crackly top to dig your spoon through. This flavour does a great job to replicate the flavour of the caramelised sugar, it’s sweet and .. sugary. When mixed against the vanilla custard it tends to create a complex sweetness binding with the sweet cream to create that lovely silky texture.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll get that familiar vanilla custard hit, it’s quite strong from the get-go, I guess that’s how they ended up with “Double Custard” in the name. The vanilla is of course the dominant note. Obviously things intensify even further from the start, as you move along toward the top of the inhale, that artificial egg undertone gets stronger, as does the Vanilla and the texture of the sweet cream.

Once you hit that crescendo, the sweetness and smokiness of the brulee begins to work it’s way into the already bold vanilla custard, it comes with a little bit of dryness, but also sweetens things up a lot. It adds depth as well with light smokey caramel tones.
Once these two meet, they don’t separate, and you’ll get that strong caramel vanilla custard follow all the way through until the end of the exhale.

Final thoughts

This is a really good custard! Vanilla Custard is probably the most popular flavour in vaping and it’s hard to set yours apart from the rest, but it is a necessary evil, as it’s a staple go-to flavour for many vapers.

EZY Eliquid and Wild West Vapers have done a great job pulling together the custard and caramelised sugar profiles, ensuring that they not only blend well but create something with a little bit of dimension, and depth of flavour.

About the only negative I’ve experienced with this one is that it sometimes comes through with a slight dryness on the exhale, nothing overly intrusive, and certainly not something that needs a lot of attention, but a little more moistness on the exhale would be awesome.

Getting past that, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this one, in fact, this bottle is now empty, I have been absolutely smashing through it. If that’s not testament to how good it is, I don’t know what else might convince you!

Coil and wick damage:

This is a dessert. It’s going to darken your wick and gunk your coils up eventually, but this one is quite mild on the sweetener, so you should get some good mileage out of your coils and wicks. Mine are still going strong after 5 days vaping on an RDA.

Steeping:

A good steep is recommended. About 2 weeks is great.

Presentation:

I really like the presentation here. I received 2x 60ml tinted Chubby Gorilla bottles, with tamper proof seals and child-proof caps. The Tinted bottles and black caps really set things off against the silver/grey/orange labels keeping things looking calm and professional.

The labels have the large Saloon Juice Eliquids logo as the main graphic with the flavour name down below and a “Creme de la Creme” slogan up top. All of the other information is available neatly across the label in silver text. Zero nicotine, bottle size, ingredients, warnings, PG/VG ratio etc..

In addition to those there is a flavour description which is a nice touch, as well as “Crafted by EZ Eliquids” and “Created by Wild West Vapers” logos, and manufactured by “CV Labs”.
