e-Liquid Review: Baz’s Honey Cake from Affinity Creations

e-Liquid Review: Baz’s Honey Cake from Affinity Creations

So here we are. The last of the Affinity Creations range of e-liquids.
It’s been a great few weeks reviewing this line and I have to say, each and every flavour has not only been enjoyable but I’ve found them to be thoughtfully blended with complimentary notes that really bring out the texture in each flavour. I’m very impressed.
There is something for everyone in this range, from desserts to cereals and even a chilled mango that you’ll likely vape every drop of!

Anyway, enough rambling from me, let’s get a start!

Today it’s Baz’s turn, this review is of “Baz’s Honey Cake” from Affinity Creations.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

The Review

It’s not often I come across a profile that I’ve not tried before, most have been done before in varying degrees, but today’s flavour is definitely something I’ve never tried before.

From reading the creator’s notes on this flavour, I believe it was modeled on the Jewish Honey Cake, a cake eaten to celebrate Jewish New Year.
They’re a spongecake, and usually have quite a denseness to them, and are sweetly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. While I’ve not tried any for real before, I have enjoyed similar (mum used to bake a lot).

“This flavour is very much what it says on the tin. To me, it’s a nice dense spongecake, sweet and rich with undertones of cinnamon, clove and a nutty backnote. “

Individual Notes

The spongecake carries throughout the entire vape, it creates the texture and mouth feel, it’s heavy, dense with a syrupy sweetness to it.

On top of the sponge cake, I get a honey, it has a very caramel feel, likely added to add that dense richness, and keep the sponge cake from being too light. This adds additional sweetness and stops if from being dry also.

Under the main sponge cake and honey syrup, the spices lay low, blending together quite well, and creating a lovely mix that defintely adds complexity and depth. The spices are sweet, and aromatic, the cinnamon and nutmeg are warm and sugary, while the clove brings a woody scent to the profile.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale I notice the honey and dense sponge cake first and foremost. As always, the inhale is light on flavour to begin with and gets a little more intense as the inhale continues. The richness of the honey sets the stage for quite a dense and rich vape, drawing you in with it’s texture and depth.

At the top of the inhale the background clove appears, bringing a little aroma along for the ride. Cinnamon and nutmeg also rear their heads providing some sweet warmth and also add to the denseness.

As I exhale, the warmer sweeter notes dance across my tongue while the base sponge cake and honey keep things thick and robust, driving the vape right out to the end of the exhale, with a warm spiced finish that sticks to the back of my tongue.

Final thoughts

This definitely is not your everyday flavour! I love to change things up and try new things, and I’ve really enjoyed this one.

The honey and spongecake work really well together, and the spices, all blend seamlessly to create a signature note that will keep you guessing.

Having said all of that, this flavour will have it’s lovers and it’s haters. It’s a polarising blend, and it’s fans will likely be divided between the two camps.
I’m a fan of it. I really like the different fragrances and aromatics in it, but even as a lover of it, it’s not something I could vape all day every day. It can be very easy to get tired of the spices in it. To me it’s a bit of a treat, pop some in your tank, enjoy it for a little, and come back to it again, when you want to wind down and enjoy.

Sit back with a nice sweet black tea and enjoy this unique blend!

Great work guys!

Very professional and unique branding on this range.

The labels are quite striking with a parchment background and black and white flavour specific artwork with juice name front and centre.
These labels go above and beyond with the information provided:

I’ve heard that these labels were the creation of 4 separate people pulling together to knock out some fantastic artwork!
