eLiquid Review 448: Apple Custard Crumble by Drip FX

Back to a dessert profile today folks! Drip FX have shown themselves to be quite the mixers when it comes to desserts, with my previous review of Berry Glaze Cheesecake being very full flavoured and complex, rounded and rich. Every dessert vaper’s favourite profile.

Today’s is a little less cheesecake and a little more custard. This one is also tied to a single fruit with waves of thick creaminess and a bakery note to keep your tastebuds cheering.

Lets see what we’ve got!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Apple Custard Crumble” by Drip FX.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

A delicious bakery dessert we all know & love. Every hit you’re treated to a taste explosion of baked apple crumble lathered with custard.

The Review:

Just as the description states, Apple Custard Crumble has a punch of flavour, it has a depth of profile to rival any other dessert, showing off it’s heavy custard, and bakery crumble, whilst a layer of apple seems to just sink in and meld with this fabulous dessert.

“Apple Custard Crumble” is very close to being an apple pie, with rich warm apple tones, sweet and juicy, blended seamlessly with thick creamy vanilla custard, and a bready, crumbly pastry/biscuit base. Very complex and wonderfully warm to vape.

Individual Notes

The apple here is a warm stewed apple, not bitey at all, but rather sweet, with a slight cinnamon feel. It helps to create the illusion of an apple pie, but this is so much better. Appearing through the custard and biscuit, as one of the more dominant flavours, this is the perfect fruit for this profile.

Vanilla Custard adds the creaminess to this flavour, the vanilla is spicy, with silky smooth sweet cream that just oozes richness. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better custard than is used in this.

The crumble in Apple Custard Crumble is a little bit pastry, but a little bit biscuit. Very Graham Cracker-esque, it’s a sweet base that is both sweet and full textured. At times, you’ll find yourself thinking that you’re really biting down on a piece of sugared crumble from this sweet base.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is an instant Apple Pie. Warm stewed sweet apples, in an almost cinnamon baked pastry. It’s lovely and thick, fills your mouth and is textured very well to give this a really well rounded feel. As the inhale continues and the apple intensifies, you’ll notice a small amount of custard appear. It thickens things up quite early, giving the Apple Pie some extra richness and coating your mouth in sweet spiced vanilla.

The exhale continues in this fashion with the apple and custard intensifying at the same rate, as you being to notice more of the biscuit base. A sugary crumble coming into play, that is a little dry, yet doesn’t dry your mouth out. Instead it adds a slight bready texture, that you’ll be sure you can bite into.

Through the rest of the exhale, the apple, custard and biscuit base mix together to create an all encompassing creamy pastry with soothing cinnamon and apple, delectable and smooth.

Final thoughts

There are a lot of Apple Pie’s out there that you could say rank right up there with the best, but when it comes down to it, many just don’t have the legs to claim to be a complex mix. This one does.

Expertly blended, “Apple Custard Crumble” is a feast for the senses, from opening the bottle and taking that first whiff, through to vaping it all day every day, the flavour is full, and an impact at that.

Even after vaping this for 2 days, there has been no flavour loss, or any change in the mix as my palate has acclimatised.

I’m happy to report that if you want a flavoursome dessert, with silky smooth custard and sweet pastry, you’ve found it.

Great job DripFX!
