eJuice Review 332: Blackberry Crumble by Dinner Lady

Ok folks, it’s been one of those weeks and my reviews have stalled a little, but I’m back on top of things now, let’s continue on with the rest of the Dinner Lady reviews.

These next few are from their dessert range, that we’ve all heard about, from, like, everywhere, so let’s get stuck in!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Blackberry Crumble” by Dinner Lady.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor)

Flavour Description:

Warm British blackberries topped with a crispy, buttery crumble.

The Review:

It’s been great reviewing a bunch of fruit flavours of late, but I do crave the desserts from time to time. Something sweet, but full textured and warm. This one is all of those things.
“Blackberry Crumble” is a blend of sugary sweet crumble and blackberries with a vanilla undertone.

Individual Notes

The blackberry is a juicy but jammy blackberry. It’s sweet and tart, yet thick in consistency, even thicker than a sauce, more of a jelly jam consistency.

There’s a touch of milk or cream here, its quite a vanilla like note, but with a milky undertone. It really helps to smooth things out, and in my opinion adds a little extra complexity to an already lovely mix.

While the rest appears to be pastry on first taste, I note that the crumble is very much a biscuit, with a sugary sweetness that clings to it, rather than a cake type of nuance. It works well, and really sets the stage, as the base for the blackberry to shine as the brighter note.

Inhale & Exhale

I’m picking up a light, sweet but tart blackberry on the inhale, against a backdrop of vanilla. It’s fruity, a little jammy with the vanilla smoothing it out.

On the exhale, the vanilla intensifies while the blackberry drops back again. At the same time, a little pastry nuance is introduced. It’s quite biscuity, with a sugary sweetness to it.

Toward the end of the exhale, I notice a little pocket of blackberry creep it’s way in, not quite in the background, and not quite in the foreground, but at the end of the vape, I’m left with this lovely blackberry jam type of flavour on my tongue.

A great ending to a tasty juice!

Final thoughts

As far as desserts go, this one is quite good, it has definitely surprised me, and has a few more layers of complexity than I had expected.
It’s not packed with a tonne of sweetener, which is good, rather relying on the sweetness of the blackberry and brown sugar to carry the sweetness along.

This is quite a nice, well-rounded flavour from Dinner Lady, and I’ve enjoyed it very much.

Where to Buy:

You can find the Dinner Lady ranges in most vape stores across Australia, I won’t link to them all.
Dinner Lady do have their own website, even though you cannot purchase their juices directly, they have a tonne of information available there. Go take a look! (http://vapedinnerlady.com)

Colour:

Light honey tint

Aroma:

Blackberry / Pastry

Coil and wick damage:

This has much less sweetener than other Dinner Lady flavours. It will still discolour and gunk wicks, but will take a little longer to do so. I rewicked at the end of my second day.

PG/VG Ratio:

70% VG / 30% PG

Texture:

Thick pastry textured with hints of fruit.

Steeping:

Steeping is a good idea with this one. It is great straight away also.

Presentation:

The Dinner Lady range all come in 60ml Glass bottles with eyedropper tips on child proof caps. They also come in tamper evident seals. Each flavour has a different coloured bottle, which is some type of powder coating. ( It does scrape off if you try. Ive been doing this so that I can see how much is left in the bottle.)
Being an eyedropper, you get the usual leaking around the rim and consequent liquid finding its way down to the base of the bottle unless you wipe it every time.

The labels are very nice looking, giving off a homey feel, with the Dinner Lady logo as well as any other information you might need.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA on Revenger mod @ 80w
