eLiquid Review 333: Apple Pie by Dinner Lady

eLiquid Review 333: Apple Pie by Dinner Lady

I’ve noticed that the dessert range by Dinner Lady is very different to their Summer Holidays range. Besides, the obvious, the flavour profiles, there is a heck of a lot less sweetener added.

On top of that small positive, so far I’ve found this range to be really tasty, equally complex and really well rounded flavours.

Onto number two!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Apple Pie” by Dinner Lady.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor)

Flavour Description:

Fresh apples mixed with a perfect blend of caramelised brown sugar, with a hint of cinnamon

The Review:

Apple pie is a staple in most juice vendor’s repertoires. There is a gammit of different versions available in the market, some great some not so great. Dinner Ladys “Apple Pie” is a delicious blend of warm stewed red apples, with hints of cinnamon spice, caramel and a sugary pastry.

Individual Notes

The apple is a real red apple flesh note, warm and stewed in contrast to the usual tart and sweet note that you might usually get. It’s still fresh, but takes on a more rounded feel, perfect for an apple pie filling!

There is cinnamon in this flavour, that helps create a pastry feel. I note that there is no real pastry flavour here, it is cleverly created using the cinnamon with some caramelized sugar. I think it’s a good choice, as it keeps the flavour profile light, without weighing it down with the heaviness of a graham cracker, or thick pastry.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll know exactly what you’re vaping as you’re hit with complete apple pie notes. Not at their full intensity, but they are there from the get-go. At this point, the red stewed apples are quite prominent, along with the light cinnamon spice, not quite pastry at this point, but a nice apple pie filling to start off with.

On the exhale, I note the cinnamon spice pick up a little as well as a sweet caramelized sugar appear, giving the illusion of a light pastry sprinkled with finely ground sugar.

Together the warm stewed apple, cinnamon and caramelized sugar blend to create a sweet, yet complex, well rounded Apple Pie.

Final thoughts

I’ve quite liked this one, its an easy flavour to vape all day, complex enough to keep you interested, and won’t gunk your coils too quickly. I’ve managed to keep the same wick in place for a couple of days, with no real issues.

It’s a good well rounded flavour, mixed really well, that is a strong, satisfying vape.

Well done Dinner Lady!

Where to Buy:

You can find the Dinner Lady ranges in most vape stores across Australia, I won’t link to them all.
Dinner Lady do have their own website, even though you cannot purchase their juices directly, they have a tonne of information available there. Go take a look! (http://vapedinnerlady.com)

Colour:

Light honey tint

Aroma:

Blackberry / Pastry

Coil and wick damage:

This has much less sweetener than other Dinner Lady flavours. It will still discolour and gunk wicks, but will take a little longer to do so. I rewicked at the end of my second day.

PG/VG Ratio:

70% VG / 30% PG

Texture:

A really warm flavour with fresh apple with hints of cinnamon

Steeping:

Steeping is a good idea with this one. It is great straight away also.

Presentation:

The Dinner Lady range all come in 60ml Glass bottles with eyedropper tips on child proof caps. They also come in tamper evident seals. Each flavour has a different coloured bottle, which is some type of powder coating. ( It does scrape off if you try. Ive been doing this so that I can see how much is left in the bottle.)
Being an eyedropper, you get the usual leaking around the rim and consequent liquid finding its way down to the base of the bottle unless you wipe it every time.

The labels are very nice looking, giving off a homey feel, with the Dinner Lady logo as well as any other information you might need.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA on Revenger mod @ 80w
