Vaporesso Luxe Q Pod Review

Vaporesso Luxe Q Pod Review

We all love Vaporesso, over the years, they’ve come out with some fantastic devices, from Pods right through to tanks and dual battery devices.

They’ve been pumping out the Pod devices lately, and today’s review is just that, another Pod device. Now, not all Pods are the same, some come with all of the bells and whistles, can dual fire, have adjustable wattage, as well as adjustable airflow too. Others are super simple devices, designed with new vapers in mind. Auto mouth draw, no power button, nothing to confuse a new vaper, but instead get them started really quickly.

Today’s Pod is Vaporesso’s latest version of the latter.

Let’s take a look at the Luxe Q Pod!

Big thanks goes to Vaporesso, who for sending this through for me to review and for all of their support!

General Info

The Luxe Q is Vaporesso’s latest Pod offering, and the specifications really speak for themselves. This is a pretty basic device, with 1000mah internal battery, auto-draw firing (inhale firing), with 1 piece pods, and zero controls. Yep that’s right the Luxe Q does not even have a power button!

Measuring in at approximately 90 x 26 x 16mm, the Luxe Q is wider than most stick style pods and a little shorter. But don’t let that small size fool you into thinking this is a cheap device, it’s quality made with a really nice elegant feel in the hand.

The Body

The main body of the device is made from some type of metal with hard plastic inserts, and is of a simple frame with side panels style to it. It comes in a range of colours, with each sporting an almost metallic looking colouring to it, with a leather look imprint.

It’s very much your typical Pod body, with Pod recess up top, indicator light on the front face, airflow slot on one side, with a USB Type C recharge port on the back.

The PODs

The Pods for the Luxe Q are one piece pods that have a built in coil, and are push in style pods (no magnets here). They feature a similar fill method to the Uwell Caliburn where you remove the top black mouth-piece to reveal the fill port and air pressure valve on the other side.

You’ll get 2ml of e-liquid into these Pods, and the clear material used for them make it easy to see your e-liquid level, even while inserted. You can’t see much but the thin sliver of window that is shown whilst inserted allows you to hold the device on it’s side to see how much liquid is left. No real need to remove the Pod to do so.

Vaporesso have built 2 interesting features into these Pods, what they are calling “SSS Leakproof Technology”, and adjustable airflow by turning your Pod around in the housing.

I’ll talk about these two things further in their respective “Airflow” and “Any leaking” sections.

You’ll get 2 different Pods in the kit.

One is the 0.8ohm mesh Pod which puts out quite a punch, activates really responsively, and pumps out some great flavour and vapour.

The other is the 1.2ohm mesh Pod, which has a slightly tighter draw than the 0.8ohm version, and a cooler vape. Unfortunately I think Vaporesso missed the mark here, this should have been a much more restricted airflow. It’s not significantly tighter than the other Pod, but the power is lowered, which means that the auto-draw also becomes a bit of a hit and miss also.

Airflow

The Luxe Q also has adjustable airflow. Not in the manner that you might expect, with some type of adjustment slider, but the Adjustable airflow works in a similar manner to other Pod sticks in the market. You’ll get different airflow through it depending on which way you place the Pod in the housing.

As you can see by the diagram above, the airflow comes in from a single slot on one side of the device, and up and under the Pod, then through the coil.

In all honesty, the different between the two airflow options is totally negligible. You will notice a slight difference, but it definitely doesn’t effect the airflow significantly, which is a bit of a shame. I think this was an area that would have really improved this device.

I feel as though no matter which way you turn the pod, you always seem to end up with a really open MTL airflow, not something that I enjoy, and on one of the Pods I tested with, it clearly cripples the auto-draw significantly.

Battery

The battery life and capacity of the Luxe Q is impressive for it’s size. Vaporesso have managed to cram a 1000mah internal battery into this little device, and I’ll bet that is no easy feat!

The battery will give you a full day of vaping, and when it’s time to charge, will take 60 minutes to charge from empty to full via the USB Type C chargeport.

Vaporesso have also been kind enough to give us a battery indicator in the form of and LED on the front.

There are three colors that indicate battery level where green is 70-100%, blue is 30-70%, and red is 0-30%

Filling

Filling is super simple and fast! Just like the Uwell Caliburn and several other Pods, you remove the top, black mouthpiece and fill from the fill port provided. There is a pressure valve of sorts here too, so you can fill quite fast without worrying about e-liquid backing back out the fill hole!

Any Leaks?

The “SSS Leakproof Technology” refers to their 3 stage effort to provide a leak free experience, “Seal Comprehensively” which makes sure all outlets for e-liquid to escape are sealed, “Saturate properly”, referring to the eliquid inlets to the coil being on the floor of the Pod, making sure you can use up all of the eliquid in the pod without going dry before using it, and “Store Safely”, which seems to mean limiting the way excess eliquid falls away from the wick, off to the sides, into small juice wells, rather than through the air inlets.

I’m not precisely sure what all of these mean in their entirety, but this “SSS” system seems to work, I’ve had zero leaking.

Usage

This will be a very short section! There are no buttons on the Luxe Q, no adjustment buttons and no firing button, so all there really is to do is to take a vape!!!

Pros:

  • Very simple design and usage
  • Quality build
  • Great battery life
  • Excellent flavour from the Pods
  • USB Type C charging
  • Great small size!

Cons:

  • Auto-draw doesn’t work too well with the 1.2ohm Pod
  • No true tight MTL option
  • Airflow adjustment is barely noticeable

Where to Buy:

You can pick up the Luxe Q Pod directly through Vaporesso via their online store, or any local Vape Shop that stocks Vaporesso products (most do).
These are available through Vaporesso for about the $32.90 USD price point, which is reasonable. Not cheap, but also not expensive.

Conclusion

This is a pretty solid offering from Vaporesso. From it’s 1000mah battery and 2ml Pod, you should get a solid day of vaping on this baby!
I like that they’ve made this device, small and light-weight all the while giving it the smallest bit of bulk and hand feel, that gives a quality impression.

What I didn’t like in particular was the very very slight difference between airflow settings. I would have liked to have seen them significantly different in order to help match more vaper’s airflow preferences. I feel like you get quite an open airflow and that is about it. No tighter option.

Despite that small issue though, the Luxe Q is a quality bit of kit, that puts out a great vape when using the 0.8ohm Pod, and will suit vapers who like a more open MTL draw perfectly.
