Oumier Wasp Nano Stick Reviewed

Oumier are one of those overnight successes that get popular for something they didn’t intend on. You’ll likely have heard of the Wasp RDA, it was one of Oumier’s proudest products, that really only hit the big time once the price had come down and RDA’s were in abundance, often in bargain bins around the world. Why it didn’t take off from launch, nobody knows, but it’s certainly made a name for itself now as a great budget RDA, something that pushes out a fantastic vape at quite a low price.

Oumier have pushed out a few versions of their “Wasp” products, more recently a newer Wasp Nano and a Wasp Nano S, and now a new RTA.

Let’s take a look at Oumier’s Wasp Nano Stick!

Big thanks goes to SourceMore for sending this directly to me for review!

General Info & Photos

The Wasp Nano Stick is a tube/RDA hybrid device, bringing together two worlds for an all in one solution. Picture a tube mod with a non-removeable RDA on top and that’s exactly what you get.
It’s an interesting concept, and one that I assume was created to be a step up for beginners wanting to get into rebuildables without needing to worry about battery safety, due to the internal battery and all of the protections pre-built into the device itself.

The Wasp Nano Stick is a really lightweight setup with a 2000mah internal battery, USB Type C charging, single button operation, and a single coil RDA up top with a deck similar to the previous Wasp Nano RDA. To add some pizazz to this hybrid aio device, Oumier have also included flashing lights to the main body similar to what we have seen before on the Fush and Fush Nano devices.

The Body

The main body of the Wasp Nano Stick is an interesting design, it has an inner cylinder with a little space between it and an outer clear layer, with various printed designs over it. This allows the lights to shine through unhindered. The use of plastic aids in keeping this really lightweight and just as easy to carry around.

There isn’t really a lot going on with the main tube section. It’s a simple regulated, internal battery device, with 3 power modes.

Up top is of course the integrated Wasp Nano RDA (which cannot be removed) below that on one side is the USB Type C charging port, and on the other a squarish power button that you use to not only turn the device off/on but to fire it too, as well as control the lights. The button has a small LED in it that displays the battery’s power level when you press it. On the base is a steel cap displaying the Wasp Nano Stick logo and other information.

Battery level indications:

  • Green – 70%+
  • Blue – 30-70%
  • Red – 30%-
  • Flashing Red x5 – Low battery

The RDA (integrated)

The integrated Wasp Nano RDA is an interesting concept, and while it’s not something that I would consider useful, it might just help someone wanting to get into more advanced devices or building, without needing to purchase separate products. Another bonus, is that the internal protections built into the tube might just stop any accidents from happening when a newbie tries his first build.

The RDA is the same single coil flavour machine that the original Wasp Nano was, with two cyclops style airflow holes, adjustable by turning the entire top cap around to get your preferred airflow. The two large posts on either side of the deck see the airflow travel through onto the coil directly for some great flavour. A generous deck/juice well is provided which helps in avoiding any overflow, and allows you to really get a lot of eliquid in there for minimal dripping intervals.

The top cap is made from a PCTG plastic, with integrated drip tip. Of course just like the original Nano, the top cap is just the right size to also fit a 510 drip tip into for those who prefer a little bit of a longer drip tip.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Wasp Nano, and never really have been. While it does in fact push out some great flavour, I’ve found that the loud and whistling airflow very off-putting and I just don’t feel as though it gives me a comfortable vape.

Building

Building on the RDA section is super easy. There are only two mounting screws for your coil, which are small enough to fit in with the sleek post design, yet large enough to still fit most small flat head screwdrivers onto.
As with most single coil RDA’s simply fit your coil with the legs in the clamps, tighten down the screws, dry fire and wick.

Wicking is just as simple, and is just a matter of feeding your cotton through, and leaving enough length for the tails to reach the bottom of the deck/juice well.

Usage & Features

There’s not a lot to this device as far as features go. There is only one button to operate everything. Here are all of the button combinations.

  • Press the fire button x5 times to turn device on/off
  • Press the fire button x4 times to turn on/off the lights
  • Press the fire button x3 times to view the power mode you are in.
    • Green – 3.9-4.2V
    • Blue – 3.6-3.9V
    • Red – 3.3-3.6V

Pros:

  • Great for beginners to learn to build on
  • Excellent flavour
  • Fancy lights (if thats your thing)
  • Internal 2000mah battery
  • Everything you need is included

Cons:

  • Wasp Nano is loud and airflow whistles
  • USB Type C Charging is not fast charging.

Where to Buy:

Of course you can pick this up directly through Sourcemore’s online store, where you’ll be able to get it for a pretty competitive price of $15 USD, Sourcemore have been kind enough to share a discount code to us also, just enter “WNSD”, and you’ll be able to get your hands on this little flashy kit for $10.69 USD.

Conclusion

All in all, despite my dislike of the integrated Wasp Nano RDA, I’ve found the Wasp Nano Stick to be quite a reliable, and easy to carry, lightweight little device. It packs a punch of flavour, and the power levels provided are actually pretty perfect for the coils that are included in the box. It’s not a powerhouse by any means, but is a nice little carry around dripper for those who prefer that style of vaping.

The lights are a little bit of a gimmick, but a cute little addition that some might get a kick out of, and they are designed and integrated into the device quite well. Thankyou for giving us a way of turning it off Oumier 🙂

If you’re in the market for a budget dripper setup, or looking to learn on a device that includes everything to get you started, this is a good little setup.
