e-Juice Review: Old Fashioned from Hitman Vaping
Welcome back. It’s Monday so let’s start the week off with an e-liquid review!
I’m smack bang in the middle of the Hitman Vaping range at the moment, after having looked at a few of their tasty flavours already (Mimosa, Strawberry Margarita, and Gin & Tonic) this range is really starting to take shape as ‘the’ cocktail range of 2020!
Hitman Vaping have definitely nailed their aim of providing some unusual, left field flavours, not only that but, they’ve been executed really well, with these delicately blended profiles.
Today I’ll be reviewing “Old Fashioned” from Hitman Vaping.

Flavour Description

A cocktail from the 19th century, the Old Fashioned is brought to new life with a unique blend of flavours including Kentucky Bourbon, Brown Sugar, and Blood Orange, to name a few. This recipe is a 21st century interpretation of a timeless favourite.

Initial Thoughts
I fell in love with this flavour straight away! The flavour hits instantly, and that Blood Orange really makes this juice. The smooth blend of bourbon in the background whilst the Blood Orange and sweet brown sugar soar, making sure you have not only a tasty vape, but lovely sweet dynamic one too!
I was originally expecting more of a thicker vape with lower tones, and not the bright zesty citrus that this turned out to be, what a lovely surprise!
This is one of my favourites so far, syrupy sugar and bright Blood Orange make for an awesome flavour profile!
Individual Notes
The blood orange really is the main note here, it’s the flavour that you’ll notice most, with it’s punchy sweetness, and bright citrus notes. It’s a rich flavour that’s instantly recognisable, and likely a favourite of many.
You’ll also find some brown sugar notes here too, they offer up a slightly syrupy vibe, sweet and help round everything out.
The bourbon isn’t quite as noticeable as I thought it might be, it adds a smokey feel to the profile, I feel like that’s where the slight bitterness is coming from but that could also be the citrus.
Inhale & Exhale
The blood orange hits you straight away on the inhale, it’s bright and full of flavour. Sweet and Acidic all at the same time, creates a dynamic fullness, that is quite bitey, and fresh at the same time.
As I inhale, a little sweetness creeps in, turning the blood orange a little syrupy and sweet. This is the brown sugar, rounding the citrus out, changing the profile a little. It’s still a bright blood orange at this stage, just a little syrupy.
At the top of the inhale, and beginning of the exhale, the blood orange retains it’s citrus and brightness, with a little bitterness appearing, right at the turn, which broadens the feel on the palate, with sweet, bitter and that acidic bite all coming together to provide a lovely dynamic profile.
You’ll likely notice the bourbon appear here too, slowly moving in with a sweet smokey overtone also adding to the complexity.
Through the exhale, the citrus stays strong, switching from a bright and almost bitter bite, smoothing into a sweet syrup, through the middle of the exhale, with a sweeter finish at the end.
Final thoughts
I’ve really enjoyed this one, it reminds me of a few of the mixers I’ve put together myself over the years, the sweeter bourbon contrasting with the tart and slightly bitter citrus offers up quite a clean flavour. The brown sugar adding that extra little bit of complexity, and introducing a light syrup feel, was a great choice too.
If you’re on the fence, and not quite sure if this might be your thing, go ahead and grab some, you won’t regret it. It’s one of those flavours that you may well be reserved about, but could very well end up being your next all day vape.

Presentation:
Wonderful presentation here. Hitman have gone the extra peg and had boxes made for their e-liquid bottles, each offset printed, with a UV clear printed over the top giving a brilliantly professional finish, designed to match the bottle’s branding and look.
I received 60ml tinted Chubby gorilla bottles with child-proof and tamper-proof caps, and needle tip dispensers.
The labels are a lovely classy satin/matt black printed with a silver underlay. Front and center are the main flavour and brand name, with an image of the beverage, a lovely hand-drawn piece of artwork.
On the back is where you’ll find all your information. Manufacturing details, ingredients, warnings, PG/VG ratio, bottle size and zero nicotine declaration. You’ll also find a batch number, as well as my favourite part, an ISO 6 certified clean-room stamp. Yep these are bottled in a certified clean room!

Haku Xeta, in Billet Box, 0.3 stainless single coil, running about 30Watts on temperature mode.
