e-Juice Review: Mimosa from Hitman Vaping

Hello again, It’s Friday, and what a week it’s been! There’s been a lot happening this week, with Minister Hunt’s shock moves against imports of nicotine to Australia and the subsequent fallout from the announcement.

Well, we’ve done it. While we haven’t reversed the intended regulations on importing nicotine into Australia, we have delayed it by 6 months. That is a massive achievement, and a huge relief for everyone involved!

I’m exhausted, I’ll bet you’re exhausted, so I’m going to take a minute, and introduce you to another e-liquid that I’ve been vaping.

As you might know, I’ve been trying out the Hitman Vaping range of juices over the last week or so. If you’re not familiar with them, they are primarily an alcohol beverage or cocktail range, with some very interesting flavour profiles. So far, I’ve been pretty impressed, and enjoying the fact that these aren’t your typical flavours, but something a little different, and in doing so, introducing some really interesting blends.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Mimosa” from Hitman Vaping.

(This e-liquid was supplied by Hitman Vaping for review. )

Flavour Description

[From the website]
Don’t be fooled, this Mimosa vape juice is not exclusive to Brunch. A perfect combination of orange mandarin, pink lemonade, and sparkling wine, topped with a subtle hint of cooling freshness. We bring you the relaxing bliss of a Sunday afternoon by the beach.

(This product does not contain any alcohol. Only permitted flavorings are used in producing this e-liquid.)

Initial Thoughts

I was a little hesitant at first with this one, due to the sparkling wine in the description, but my fears were allayed the second I tasted it. I did think perhaps the sparkling wine, might make this a little strange to vape, but having tried it, and tasted that wonderful orange and mandarin blend, that fizz on the tongue and the light cooling that washes through the mouth, I am really enjoying it.

This is not a heavy flavour, but it’s also not a really light flavour either, I’d describe it as flavoursome but clean, the sort of flavour that you can vape all day without getting tired of it. All day vape material!

Bright orange and mandarin create quite an unusual but tasty profile that is both dynamic and sweet, while the lemonade and cooling leave a lasting impression!

Individual Notes

The orange and mandarin are obviously the main notes here, they’re both bright and fruity. Imparting quite a clean flavour across the palate, on their own they would suffice, but blended together, they create quite an unusual, but welcomed profile, a little extra earthiness, complexity and sweetness comes into play.

The pink lemonade also plays a role in developing this dynamic flavour, it adds more sweetness, and creates a robust back drop for the orange and mandarin to stick to.

The description says that there is sparkling wine here, but I’m finding that it’s pretty much just a touch of bitterness that’s been added, similar to the last few flavours I’ve reviewed.

To finish off, this flavour has just a touch of cooling, further adding to the texture and helping that dynamic feel along. Hitting this one hard with low ohms, high wattage isn’t going to destroy your throat 🙂

Inhale & Exhale

You’ll notice the orange and mandarin straight away on the inhale. While these two aren’t normally really strong flavours, together they create quite the flavour hit, with the orange providing the brighter citrus notes, and the mandarin the mid-range, juicy deeper flavour.

As I inhale, joining the orange and mandarin is a little cooling, you’ll notice it similar to breathing in the cool air on a winter morning, not freezing, just a little chill. With the cooling, there is also a little underlying bitterness that shows through, it’s at a really nice level actually, there, but not really too noticeable. Instead providing just that perfect amount of contrast against the sweetness of the fruits.

At the top of the inhale, this blend is joined by a little fizz, that is prominent right at the beginning of the exhale, it’s a sharper fizz, akin to a soda water or ‘sparkling wine’ just without that alcohol feel.

Through the exhale, I notice this fizz and orange subside, as the juicier and more syrupy mandarin takes hold, pushing a fuller flavour through to the end of the vape, with and underlying cooling to keep things interesting.

Final thoughts

This is actually a really well thought out flavour, every ingredient has a purpose and adds to the overall complexity and fullness to the profile. I like how both the orange and mandarin blend, with both of their strengths playing off of each other, creating contrast, and an almost completely new flavour coming through.

The sweet fizz from the sparkling wine/pink lemonade provides additional fullness and texture, while the cooling is just right. You won’t get a smack in the mouth with the chill, but it works, instead leaving you with that cool drink feel. I’m actually getting a fruit tingle feel from it.

Could I pick on anything here? Not really. I’ve thought a lot about what I might do to improve this flavour, but nothing really comes to mind. I’d be interested to see what would happen if the tiniest bit of ginger were added to the mix, but that’s just me being weird.

All in all, a lovely flavour, that fruit lovers might just find a new favourite!

Well done guys!

Wonderful presentation here. Hitman have gone the extra peg and had boxes made for their e-liquid bottles, each offset printed, with a UV clear printed over the top giving a brilliantly professional finish, designed to match the bottle’s branding and look.
