The Review

This thing screams quality. As soon as I laid eyes on it and took it out of the box, that solid feel, the build quality, and lovely finish just took my breath away.

This tiny little POD device, is not only pretty, but it’s a really simple setup too. From the auto draw operation, right through to easy filling, this is a great device for new vapers, and those who don’t want to fuss with a lot of options.

The Main Body

This small POD device comes in two different finishes, the acrylic range which is really classy, with it’s shiny finish and elegent patterns, and the leather series, a little more masculine but with a lovely feel.

There’s a little weight to this small POD, Im assuming the frame is made from a chrome plated alluminium, or stainless steel, everything is here, from venting holes, to glass liquid window and micro usb port, all in this tiny size.

The POD

The main body is not the only tiny part of this device, these pods are small!
Holding only 1ml of eliquid, they’re roughly a similar size to a Juul pod, except these you can fill!

These are self contained pods, so you won’t be able to put your own coils in there, but with a nice clean juice, you will get a decent amount of life out of them! The coil resistance is measured at 1.2ohm, and have been designed to work seamlessly against this devices 12Watt maximum power output.

Airflow

The airflow through these pods, is really restricted, which is understandable since this is designed to be a Mouth to Lung device, but if you don’t mind a really tight pull, you can also get a really restricted Direct Lung pull from it too.

I do have to say the auto-draw, and the level of airflow is just perfect for a Mouth to Lung device, I haven’t found myself wanting it any looser or any tighter, it’s just right for me.

If you’ve ever tried a Caliburn, or a KoKo POD device, this has a very similar pull to it, not only that but puts out just as much vapour too!

Battery

While the Lostvape ‘Prana’ only has a 500mah Lipo battery, it does a great job for it’s purpose, being a purely MTL device with tight draw, and running at maximum 12 Watts, this battery is more than enough to get you through most of the day. Chain puffing sees the battery last for 4-5 hours, and more conservative use up to 7 hours from my experience.

Charging this device is pretty quick too, mind you it’s only 500mah. I timed it at around an hour from empty to full using the micro usb cable provided.
Sure this could have benefitted from having a usb type-C connector and faster charging, but an hour to charge empty to full, is satisfactory.

Filling

You’ll be amazed how simple this POD is to fill. Simply take the POD out of the device, turn it on it’s side and open the small silicone plug.
Fill the POD up by filling the ample sized fill hole, and then plug the silicone plug back. (make sure you wipe away any excess juice or spill)

These PODs are not tinted at all either and are clear as glass.
There is also a small window in the Prana main body, so that you can see the POD’s eliquid level without removing the POD.

Any Leaks?

None, what-so-ever. I have experienced ZERO leaking from these PODs, they are clean as a whistle, with not a drop of eliquid on the outside.
For that matter, I have not even seen any condensation at the bottom of the POD nor inside the main chassis of the device.

Usage

Being a super simple device, LostVape have not thrown too much at it as far as functionality, but what it does do, it does quite well.

Being draw-activated, you won’t need to push a button to fire the device, however there is a mode button on the side. What this does is as well as using it for your typical 5x clicks on/off, is changes between the 3 modes available. You’ll find a little LED light below the mode button that indicates which mode you’re in.

Modes

  • Red = Low 9 Wattts
  • Blue = Medium 10 Watts
  • Green = High 12 Watts

That little LED under the mode button, also serves to tell you how much charge you have left in your battery.

Battery Levels

  • Red – Low Charge < 15%
  • Blue – Medium Charge 15 – 65%
  • Green – High Charge 65 – 100%

This really is a super simple, painless device to use, Lostvape have knocked it out of the park for ease of use.

Pros:

  • Great build quality
  • Super comfortable
  • Good vapour production
  • Really nice airflow level for MTL
  • Super simple to use

Cons:

  • No adjustable airflow
  • No USB-C charging

Conclusion

The Lostvape Prana, really is quite a beautiful little unit, easy to use and is a quality build.

Personally, I think it’s a great little device that would be perfect for those just starting out, or who don’t really want to over-complicate things.

Because of the tight draw, obviously this is aimed at Mouth to Lung vapers, and the low maximum wattage, puts it squarely in the Nicotine Salts range.

So if you’re after a nice little out and about device, that slips in the pocket, and you’re a bit of a Mouth to lung vaper, this will be a perfect fit for you, and at the price point that it’s in, it’s an affordable purchase.

Would I recommend this one? Absolutely yes, for the targeted user base, that’s an absolute positive. It’s a fantastic device for what it is designed to do! Great work Lostvape!
