eLiquid Review: White Chocolate Fondue from the Dessert Man range

eLiquid Review: White Chocolate Fondue from the Dessert Man range

Big Boy Cloudz create some magical flavours, their chief mixer has been at it for a few years now, and really has come into his own as a juice chef.

With time, we all adapt and evolve, and let me tell you, the flavours he has either launched or been working on over the last year, have been nothing less than top notch, and best of their class.

This range is one of his latest creations, and what a range it is. Determined to come out with some of the best dessert flavours Australia has to offer, Big Boy Cloudz created “Dessert Man”.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “White Chocolate Fondue” from the Dessert Man range.

Flavour Description

“Sweet Ripe Strawberries & Marshmallow pieces covered in Rich White Chocolate.”

The Review

If you love thick creamy blends this one is going to be right up your alley. While not a smack in the mouth with dense flavour, this strawberries and cream blend provides a lovely thick mouth feel, whilst not being overpowering or something you’ll easily tire of.

“White Chocolate Fondue” is primary light creams and equally light fresh tangy strawberry, with a deeper sticky marshmallow and white chocolate that adds character, sweetness and additional complexity.

“Thick creams and marshmallow wash over ripe strawberries that have been dipped in white chocolate”

Individual Notes

The creams are very much sweet creams. Not quite whipped, and not quite custards, they are a lighter, smoother blend that sets the stage for the entire profile early on and carry through the entire vape. There is a stickiness here, which explains the marshmallow in the description, a well known ingredient that helps thicken creams and create a more decadent feel.

There is strawberry in this too, while you might not get a big flavour punch from it, it does at times offer a sharper, tart, fresh strawberry vibe, more fleshy than seedy flavour that appears through the fog of the creams.

Now the white chocolate. I’ve got to be honest here, I really don’t notice it much, it’s there just after the top of the inhale as you begin to exhale, giving off a little bit of a marzipan/marshmallow feel, just a little deeper. It’s super light and just barely dusts over the other creams, to richen them further.
I feel like this was done on purpose, as to not over-do the white chocolate, and that is probably a good choice. An overload of white chocolate would definitely ruin the flavour.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I notice the creams first and foremost, they’re light in the beginning, gradually becoming stronger and thicker as the inhale continues. They’re very much like sweet cream, with a smattering of marshmallow that stickies them up creating a thicker and sweeter profile.

As I reach the top of the inhale, the strawberry appears, of course lightly at first with juicy sweet strawberry flesh, quickly turning a little tart and stronger as they get juicier. The strawberry doesn’t have a lot of impact, more riding along the creams creating quite a mellow strawberry cream blend at this stage.

As I exhale, with the creams and strawberry already in play, the white chocolate appears. It’s a sweet richness, a little buttery, with a vanilla undertone and a slightly thicker than milk consistency. It also has a little bit of a chilled feel to it. Even though there is no menthol or cooling in this juice, the layering and thickness of the white chocolate creates that illusion.

Light creams, a dashing of ripe strawberry and that thicker buttery white chocolate continue to intensify as the exhale continues, until you’re left with a light coating in your mouth and a wanting for more!

Final thoughts

I’ve found this juice to be lovely. It’s a fresh take on a dessert, and doesn’t go overboard with flavour, quite the opposite in fact.
While this is a smooth and creamy, strawberry vape, I was looking for a much larger contribution from the white chocolate. I can understand why so little was used, and it’s a very well balanced juice, but I struggled to get white chocolate from it a lot of the time kicking it at about 50+ watts. (which is my usual daily setup)

This is not an issue if you go higher, a dual coil running 80+ watts, sees the flavour condense even more and you notice that thick sweet white chocolate a lot more.

If you’re a higher wattage user, this is phenomenal. A really well balanced flavour, where you’ll get the best of all flavour notes without getting tired of it.

If you’re a lower wattage user, you might find it a little lacking in the deeper white chocolate profile, it still is a very lovely flavour though, and I still suggest you try it, because the longer you vape it the more you’ll notice those wayward flavours.

Great job on this guys, it’s got me itching to try all of your other flavours!

Creamy White Chocolate

No noticeable damage to wicks or coils.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Silky smooth and creamy.

A steep is definitely recommended for this one.

Presentation:

Awesome packaging with this range. I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with child-proof, sealed caps, and needle tip dispensers. One great thing about these dispensers is the needle tip actually unscrews so that you can easily top your bottle up with nicotine instead of popping the cap off. Too easy!

The labels are great too, a mixture of lighter faded out imagery and white, with a chef like character on the front with related fruits and desserts. The logo and flavour name and front and centre, with all of the important information provided. Bottle size, Ingredients, Warnings, and where the juice was manufactured.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
