eLiquid Review 501: Vibe – Rock from VapeCraft

eLiquid Review 501: Vibe – Rock from VapeCraft

I’m having a great time here with Vapecrafts VIBE range, so far I’ve come across a few different profiles that have hit the spot.

This next one is named after one of my favourite genres of music (they are all named after music genres if you hadn’t noticed), so I’m expecting big things!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Rock” from VapeCraft’s VIBE range.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“This award winning sour blue raspberry gummy will ROCK your socks off”

Flavor: Blue Raspberry Gummy

The Review

I wouldn’t really expect this flavour profile to come with a name like this, but I’m sure there is some obscure music reference there somewhere!
Very much like the other flavours in the VIBE range, this one is another candy, very sweet, but this time, an all time favourite for many “Blue Raspberry”. Blue Raspberry is synonymous with slushies, that sweet slightly berry like flavour. Many are not quite raspberry, and not quite blueberry, but more of a cotton candy. This one is a little different.

I definitely get both from this, so rather than the traditional Blue Raspberry, this juice blurs the lines and takes on a more literal flavour to go with it’s name.

To me “Rock” is a blend of candy Raspberries, a light blueberry candy, some tartness, likely from another berry like strawberry, and an underlying sweetness very much like a fairy floss or a cotton candy.

Individual Notes

The raspberry is very much a candy. Sweet, with a touch of that classic Raspberry sweet, the raspberry punches through most of the other notes in this flavour.

Just like the raspberry, the blueberry is very candy like, think hard boiled candies. It’s not as strong as the raspberry and tends to hide in the background somewhat but every so often pops out and makes itself known.

There is a tartness here too. Very much a candy strawberry, you know that cleaner, sharper tall note that you might have experienced with strawberry flavours? That’s it in a nutshell. It does a great job of dividing, yet, also helping the two berries get along, without cancelling each other out, and as a bonus, adds that sharper tartness.

Last but not least, there is an artificial sweetness here, it is sugary, and has more of a cotton candy feel. Very much a genuine country fair cotton candy.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll instantly notice the raspberry. Do yourself a favour and make sure you havent been vaping a raspberry before this, because as you may already know, it’s one of those flavours that will cancel itself out of a flavour if your tastebuds are already aclimatised to it. To really appreciate a raspberry, you have to come from a different flavour profile for it to pop.

The raspberry is very candy like, as I mentioned before, not a soft candy, more a raspberry hard candy, and it dominates the inhale, intensifying all the way through until just before the peak, when you’ll notice that subtle blueberry appear. Just like the raspberry, it carries the same tone as a candy, and is quite easy to miss as a more background note. But on a fully saturated wick you will notice it more.

At the height of the inhale, you’ll also notice a tartness when it hits it’s peak, this is very much a strawberry type of tartness, sweet and tart at the same time, carrying that familiar strawberry flesh feel with it, to bridge the gap between the other berries, separating them yet, bringing them together at the same time. I suppose you could say, it allows you to focus more on the candy aspects of them both by stripping the realistic fruit tone from them with it’s tartness.

As you exhale, this tartness continues, but slowly falls away as the raspberry and blueberry sweetness begin to take hold again, and an underlying fairy floss or country style cotton candy appears below the surface, as though it’s been there the whole time bolstering the other flavours as a background note.

The cotton candy flows right through to the very end as the raspberry and blueberry fall away a little more, and you’re left with a light sweet aftertaste.

Final thoughts

Not a bad flavour. I’ve enjoyed this one, with it’s lighter than usual tones, the bonus being that it’s very easy to vape all day long without getting tired of.

If I were to pick on anything, I would have liked it to be a little more dimensional, have a little more depth, perhaps with some lemonade or fizziness, perhaps even another fruit, just to help pop it out of it’s safe place of being a very run of the mill blue raspberry.

All in all, a great flavour, and one to put on your list when you’re doing your juice shopping next time around!

Good job VapeCraft!

Presentation:

Vapecraft always have quite good presentation, and this range is no different. I received 60ml Chubby Gorilla bottles, with child-proof and tamper proof seal, needle tip dispenser. The labels are vibrant, and colourful, with the addition of the vibe logo being in metallic print. Each label has flavour specific colouring, the vibe logo, nicotine warning, bottle size, and the rest is just really quite hard to read.

All of the information is here, it’s just not readable. After taking a photo with my camera phone, I enlarged the text and could read it without issue, but to the human eye? Nada. The unreadable text is mainly ingredients list and general warnings, so not a big deal to general users, but it might be something they should look at to ensure everything can be read.

Otherwise, these are some fairly well designed labels.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
