e-Liquid Review: True Gold by Opulence Vapors

e-Liquid Review: True Gold by Opulence Vapors

Ok folks I’m carrying over from my review of “Real Money” the other day, with the other flavour that is available in the Opulence range.

Opulence E-Liquid is a two flavor premium e-liquid line. Crafted by VapeCraft, you can expect delicious flavors, and of course a level of Opulence you can only get from Vape Craft.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “True Gold” from the Opulence Vapors range.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
Flavor: ripe pears, candy watermelon, mango, and apricot eliquid.

True Gold by Opulence is the ultimate sweet sensation of ripe pears, candy watermelon, mango, and apricot that makes for a refreshing flavor that you can vape all day.

The Review

This one is going to be one of those flavours that you either really love, or cannot stand. It’s an absolutely sweet collection of flavours that will be a favourite among fruit lovers, but an aberration to dessert vapers.

Pears, watermelon, mango and apricot fuel this concoction, all blending together to create one mammoth fruity mix.

I’m finding that some of the flavours work well together, while others like the watermelon sort of kill the vibe for me a little. I think it’s the natural state of some and artificial notes from others that play against this one, creating a bit of a “mish mash” of profiles.

“This massively sweet and fruity mix is going to get the heart pumping and will wake your tastebuds up guaranteed”

Individual Notes

The pear is quite pleasant, not over the top yet seems to carry all the way through the vape. It’s a realistic pear, void of any skin notes, and mainly consisting of pear flesh. Sweet, yet slightly acidic, it’s exactly what a pear should be.

The mango is next on the list and is one of the more noticeable fruits. Just like the pear, it’s more of a fleshy flavour, sweet and syrupy just like a real mango, which also seems to carry on throughout the entire vape, not just a short portion.

Candy watermelon. What can I say about this, but it’s a candy watermelon! Sweet yet dull, this artificial mid-range flavour overtakes many of the other fruits during the vape, enveloping them to turn things a little artificial.
It is sweet but lacks punch, a little fragrant but does pull off the candy watermelon vibe well.

Apricot. You might not notice this, because it shows itself right at the top of the intensity range. A sweeter, syrupy flavour that creates a bit of richness, deepening the flavour, and creating an extra level of flavour.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll first notice the Pear and the Mango, they’re pretty evenly distributed in flavour and both intensify as you inhale. They’re both juicy and syrupy, offering more syrupy fleshy notes, than skin, and evenly matched. I’m not quite convinced of this pairing though, and don’t think they gel very well as a blend, instead of a silky smooth mix, they create a bit of an unnaturally dull profile.

As you reach the peak of the inhale, you’ll notice a touch of watermelon, and some sweet apricot deepening the mix and creating a richer feel to the vape. I think this really saves this mix, as it provides a more robust sweetness where the pear/mango and watermelon dull out a little.

On the exhale, you’ll continue to taste the mango/pear mix, while the apricot subsides, and is replaced by the watermelon intensifying and bulldozing the other flavours aside, pushing through with it’s sweet dullness and light artificial floral notes. If you’re a watermelon lover, you’ll really dig this, but if you’re not, you’ll likely loathe it.

As that watermelon pushes through the exhale, the apricot eventually comes through again at the end, richening things up and providing an extra level of complexity, but unfortunately isn’t enough to pop this flavour over the line.

Final thoughts

I’m sure you can tell by now that this definitely is not one of my favourite profiles. To me this juice feels a little rushed, with the flavours not quite balancing right. They just aren’t convincing me that they are supposed to be mixed together. Instead I experience and overwhelming sweetness and a muddled blend of fruits.

All in all, it’s an ok mix, just not earth shattering, and if you love your watermelon, you’ll likely really get into it.

I think the realistic fruits, blended with the artificial watermelon was the root of my dislike, so if you feel you can get past that, I’m sure you will love it.

Props to Opulence Vapors for trying something a little left field and out of the ordinary, it’s great to see companies take gambles like this, and push out unusual flavours rather than being boring and sticking to the same old profiles.

Where to Buy:

You can pick this one up directly from the VapeCraft online store for $22.99USD or from one of their many resellers.

Syrupy Sweet fruits

Coil and wick damage:

This one will damage your wicks and coils lightly. There is some sweetener here, so don’t expect a month of vaping without having to clean up and change your cotton.

PG/VG Ratio:

70VG/30PG

Texture:

Syrupy sweet fruits

Steeping:

Good to go straight away

Presentation:

The presentation of this one is pretty good. Just like most of VapeCraft’s brands, the labels are very professional.

I received 120ml Chubby Gorilla bottles, dark tinted with black caps, tamper proof seal, and all child-proof.

The label for this one is black with gold accents. You’ll notice the brand and juice name at the front, along with the nicotine strength and bottle size, and a nice big nicotine warning.

On the side, even more warnings, ingredients list and barcode. All in all pretty simple, but professional.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
Bonza RDA with x2 Framed Stapled coils (0.2 ohm-ish)
