eLiquid Review 456: Super Blackcurrant Grapes by Australia Vape Co

Australia Vape Company was founded on the premise of importing quality e-liquids from around the world to match the preferred profiles of Australian vapers, so it was only a natural progression that they should produce their very own branded ejuice range to further streamline that intention.

Having more than ten years of experience working with multinational brands around the world, gave them the ideal setting for creating their very own blends, and this is what I have for you this week!

I was well impressed with the first flavour that I reviewed, let’s see how we go with this next eliquid!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Super Blackcurrant Grapes” by Australia Vape Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

The aromatic bitter-sweet flavor of blackcurrants in combination with white grape creates pleasantly refreshing vaping flavours, whose natural fruity aroma comes out particularly well. By complementing intense tart blackcurrant juice with high-quality grape juice, we have created a delicious flavor that’s easy on the palate. The result is a premium 100% pure vape with a unique blackcurrant taste that, without being overwhelmed, is supported by the natural sweetness of grapes.

The Review

Ever since I received the package in the mail, and saw the label on this one, I’ve been craving to try it. One sniff and I just knew this would be a fantastic flavour, full of fruity impact and unparalleled sweetness.

I definitely wasn’t wrong! This juice is not only tasty, but it’s got a huge flavour hit, that smacks you right in the tastebuds, and a lovely sweet juice texture.

“Super Blackcurrants Grapes” is a sweet and juicy blend of strong and authentic blackcurrants, sweet white grape and an icy cool blast that will chill you to the bone!

Individual Notes

The blackcurrant in this is off the charts, it’s strong sweet, yet slightly bitter with light floral notes and a very sweet base. It has a slightly dry feel to it, probably due to the floral vibe.

The white grape adds a super sweetness, it’s a very syrupy sweetness that has a slight sharpness to it, and counters the dryness of the blackcurrant florals very nicely. Another very full on flavour, your tastebuds are going to get a workout with this juice!

This eliquid has a cooling agent blast of coldness to it. I notice it both on the inhale and the exhale, so suspect that it’s menthol as well as cooling agent. This one is a little stronger than with “Secret Lemon Drop” and creates a very nice impact to the fruits.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale you’ll notice, is mostly blackcurrant. It’s quite strong for the inhale full of sweet floral notes and a little juiciness, and obviously intensifies as you inhale. There is a slight bitterness there, that carries over from the florals, that is easily countered by the underlying sweetness of the white grape, which of course isn’t very noticeable on the inhale, but it is there, and gets stronger toward the exhale.

There is a defining coldness on the inhale also, its gradual, just like the blackcurrant, and hits its full intensity at the to of the inhale, providing quite a cold throat hit enhancing that flavour punch.

Over to the exhale, the blackcurrant has sort of reached it’s peak. It does get a little stronger, but rather than strengthen as it’s own flavour, it’s joined by the sweet grape, that pulls the main floral note away and counters it with it’s syrupy sweetness. Both flavours continue to then intensify through the exhale giving off a real hard candy feel. About mid way through you’ll begin to feel that menthol/cooling agent kick in again, not as strong as the inhale, but still packs a punch all the same. Then you’re left with a well blended blackcurrant, white grape and menthol finish leaving a nice sweet aftertaste.

Final thoughts

Another very well blended mix from Australia Vape Co! I’ve enjoyed this one very much, and I’ll admit, haven’t been able to mix one this well myself ( I have tried! ) The sweet grape and the robust and slightly floral blackcurrant work remarkably well together, with the menthol and cooling agent finishing things off very nicely.

One thing to note is that the floral does impart a slightly bitter and dry feel to the vape about halfway through, but the grape does a great job of countering it, pulling the profile back and getting it back to a very juicy texture for a great finish.

I was pleasantly surprised to note that this is actually a pretty clean juice. I did initially think that it might gunk coils and brown wicks, with it being so sweet, but that just hasn’t happened. I’ve happily vaped this for 2 days without a wick change, and no sign of needing one soon, so a huge thumbs up for that!

Great work on this one!

Where to Buy:

You can purchase this flavour as well as many of their others directly from the Australia Vape Company website/store.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Sweet blackcurrant/grape candy

Coil and wick damage:

Unexpectedly, I’m getting no issues here with wick or coil damage. For such a sweet juice as this, it is very clean!

PG/VG Ratio:

70%VG / 30%PG

Texture:

Sweet and juicy

Steeping:

No steep necessary here!

Presentation:

Simple yet professional. I don’t know what it is about these labels, they are really clean looking, while being very minimalistic, and simple. The pastel colour coded label relates to the flavour inside, and there is mostly the standard amount of information provided on them. Company name, and juice name front and centre, with bottle size, PG/VG ratio, a little bit of info about the juice range, nicotine strength (which is zero), ingredients, warnings, manufactured by statement, and I’m not sure how accurate this is because it’s on the bottle itself between the seams of the label, a used by date. There is also a clear embossed sticker on the front, that I assume is to show that it’s the real deal.

The bottles are 60ml dark tinted Chubby Gorilla ‘type’ bottles with needle tips and screw cap lid that has a fresh seal, and child-proofing built in.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
