eLiquid Review 455 – Quickstrike: Limited Release Birthday/Christmas Juice by Symbolic Vapour

This one is a bit of a quick-strike review, I know I’m in the middle of the Australia Vape Company reviews, but this one really needs to get published, and I’m working double time to get it out there!

Flavour Description

A superbly blended, sugary milk chocolate with a sweet peppermint finish.
We are very proud of this one, as chocolate is not easy to get right in a vape juice.
Trust us when we say, this may very well be the best chocolate vape you have tasted (well that is what our tasters have told us 😉 )

The Review

This juice is limited release and only available for Christmas and the celebration of Symbolic Vapour’s 2 year birthday! So you’ll want to get in quickly! 

It’s a choc-mint flavour that Symbolic just had to try and perfect. And I can say with certainty, that there are a tonne of these out there that just don’t cut it due to the limited chocolate concentrates available in today’s market. They’ve taken on a big job, and will want to use all of their best tricks to pull this one off let me tell you!

Individual Notes

The milk chocolate is the part that has taken the time, and it shows. This one, unlike many others, is quite smooth, with a minimal amount of dry chocolate texture. You see chocolate is a really difficult one to get right, specially a milk chocolate. Many concentrates focus more on the belgian or dark chocolate aspect, neglecting the one chocolate that is used in most sweets and treats!
A milky, creamy chocolate, with an almost sticky nature, and that melt in the mouth texture!

There is also peppermint here, its your standard sweet peppermint, but added to the chocolate, adds that element of class in perfect proportions. Go too heavy with the mint, and you’ll get a terrible mix, which is also the same if you do not use enough! I’m happy to report that Symbolic have gotten this bit around about perfect 🙂

I believe there is a little menthol in here too, it’s not just peppermint, but there is a distinct menthol, hiding away in the background. It adds some extra coolness, and that sharper chill.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is all chocolate, its smooth and milky with that distinct milk chocolate texture. Fairly light at this stage, but intensifies as you inhale.
At the top of the inhale, the chocolate is mostly at it’s most intense, cocoa and milk/cream nuances dominate it, a real chocolate syrup type of feel with a slight dryness that seems to come with every chocolate vape flavour.

Over to the exhale, is where the peppermint and menthol set in, as with the chocolate on the inhale, this intensifies as you go, starting off lightly, and gradually getting stronger the further you exhale. The peppermint adds an additional sweetness to the chocolate, and changes the profile quite a lot, from the thick chocolate syrup type of flavour, to a more solid chocolate and peppermint profile. Very much like a peppermint “Aero” bar, or a choc mint biscuit, you’ll find similarities on both fronts. As you exhale you’ll finish with quite a cool, chilled peppermint chocolate, that is both tasty, and has a really nice texture to it. Less dry than others, and blends much more seamlessly also.

Final thoughts

You can tell that Symbolic have put a lot of time into this one. It is a very nice chocolate, quite genuine, and probably one of the best Choc Mint flavours that I’ve had the pleasure of trying.

It isn’t perfect though, (what is?) but so very close to it, it’s not funny. I note a little bit of a dryness to it, a chocolate flake or shavings type of feel to the vape. This is likely completely subjective also, since different chocolates appeal to different people, and this profile might just be what chocolate connoiseur would call the “holy grail”.

Either way, I’ve enjoyed this one quite a lot, and am very impressed with the cleanness of the juice. I’ve had no issues with gunking coils or darkening wicks, which was quite the surprise, and a very welcome thing!

If you’re after a choc mint flavour, this one is it. It’s the one to get your hands on at this time of writing, unfortunately you cannot buy it!

I’ve only been running this one for just over a day, so difficult to report on if it causes any issues from added sweetener, but so far it’s been a pretty clean juice. I’m not seeing any discolouration of my wicks (besides the juice colour) nor gunking of coils at all.

PG/VG Ratio:

70%VG / 30%PG

Texture:

Thick and creamy chocolate with a mint finish

Steeping:

Definitely give this one a steep. Chocolates will get better with age!

Presentation:

Symbolic’s presentation is always great. I recieved a 120ml easy squeeze plastic bottle with standard needle tip and screw/child-proof black cap. The label is similar to their other flavours, with it’s black gloss label, company name, emblem/logo for the flavour, PG/VG ratio etc.. 

Simple and minimalistic, these labels and bottles don’t pretend to be anything they are not, but take a toot on one of their juices, and you’ll know that you’re vaping quality!

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
