eLiquid Review 454: Secret Lemon Drop by Australia Vape Co

eLiquid Review 454: Secret Lemon Drop by Australia Vape Co

I’ve got another new juice range up for review this week! These guys have been around for a long time, however only just recently release their own flavour range.

With a history of wholesale and supply, ‘Australia Vape Co’ wanted to bring a juice range to the Australian market, that was tailored to it’s unique tastes, and here it is.

Starting off with an Aussie favourite, let’s see what this range has in store for us!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Secret Lemon Drop” by Australia Vape Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

Smell the lemony fragrance of the lemon rind. With just enough tart, zest and freshness that will make this liquid a perfect choice for citrus lovers out there.

The Review

This is probably not an Australian only thing, but it is something that we’ve all grown up with, from family gatherings to events, and everything in between. These sweets/lollies were at the top of the chain, and you’d always want to be the first in the bowl so that you could grab a handful of these tasty treats.

The Lemon Drop is a hard lemon candy with a powdered sherbert on the inside that would burst in your mouth once you’d gotten through most of the outer shell. Sweet and tangy, and stuck in your teeth, these are very difficult to forget!

“Secret Lemon Drop” is just that, the familiar sweet lemon, rolling around in your mouth so that it doesn’t stick to either side, and just as you crunch down on it, a burst of sweet sherbert tang explodes leaving you to chew down on the now chewy and taffy lemon shell.

Individual Notes

The Lemon Candy in this is spot on. It’s sweet, artificial lemon, replicating the lolly perfectly. There is a brightness to it that keeps that flavour full and intense throughout the vape.

The sherbert is also very well done, light to begin with getting more intense as you go, which is exactly how it would be when you bite into one of these tasty treats. It is super sweet, with a light powdery texture that you’ll instantly recognise as the sherbert exploding out.

The secret. Well, I’m assuming this is it, is menthol. Not only on the exhale, but also the inhale, so I believe that there would have been both menthol and cooling agent used. It’s not in your face, but it’s strong enough to give this flavour a defined chill, a punch of coldness, that actually works really well with the lemon and the sherbert!

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale and exhale with this one is very much on par, you’ll be hard pressed to find much of a difference besides the intensity.

On the inhale, you’ll get mostly lemon hard candy, sweet with a slight sourness, but not enough to call it a fresh lemon. At the top of the inhale, a little more sweetness, with the sherbert appears, but only just a tiny bit, only giving you a hint.

On the exhale, the sweet lemon candy continues, and intensifies. Simultaneously, the sherbert begins its run along side of it, building at the same pace, adding a warmth to the lemon candy as well as a different type of tang, and a little fizz. This warmth gives way quickly though, because both flavours are joined by some menthol, that chills things down but creating a very nice contrast to the sweeter warmer notes.

Eventually the lemon hit’s it’s reach, and the sherbert begins to take over the end of the exhale, bringing the vape home with some mouth watering chilled fizziness, and a slight powdery texture on the tongue.

Final thoughts

A really great flavour. As soon as I tried it, memories flooded back to me and I knew exactly what it was, pound for pound, this flavour is a spot on lemon sherbert candy. It’s actually that accurate that at times, I found my tongue wandering to my teeth in order to try and pull some of that sticky candy out from between my teeth!

This one is sweet. Really sweet. And unfortunately that is also it’s downfall. Along with the sweetness must come sweetener, and this must have a decent amount in it, because it does affect the vape.

Vaping at about 50-60 watts on a fairly warm build, I’ve been experiencing some hot spitting from my rda, where normally I do not. I’ve dry burned the coil and changed the wicks every day, and it is still happening on quite a wet wick. I can only blame the sweetener, and that is such a shame.

Other than the sweetener causing issues, I have nothing to pick on with this one, it’s a wonderful flavour, tasty and with a bit of a menthol kick for summer!

Where to Buy:

You can purchase this flavour as well as many of their others directly from the Australia Vape Company website/store.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Lemon Candy

Coil and wick damage:

There is a bit of sweetener in this one, and as a result, you’ll get clogged coils and damaged wicks. I’ve been dry burning and re-wicking every day whilst vaping this one.

PG/VG Ratio:

70%VG / 30%PG

Texture:

Sweet lemon hard candy

Steeping:

No steep necessary here!

Presentation:

Simple yet professional. I don’t know what it is about these labels, they are really clean looking, while being very minimalistic, and simple. The pastel colour coded label relates to the flavour inside, and there is mostly the standard amount of information provided on them. Company name, and juice name front and centre, with bottle size, PG/VG ratio, a little bit of info about the juice range, nicotine strength (which is zero), ingredients, warnings, manufactured by statement, and I’m not sure how accurate this is because it’s on the bottle itself between the seams of the label, a used by date. There is also a clear embossed sticker on the front, that I assume is to show that it’s the real deal.

The bottles are 60ml dark tinted Chubby Gorilla ‘type’ bottles with needle tips and screw cap lid that has a fresh seal, and child-proofing built in.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
