eLiquid Review 334: Orange Tart by Dinner Lady

eLiquid Review 334: Orange Tart by Dinner Lady

I’m onto the last of the Dinner Lady reviews today folks, so far I’ve reviewed the 5 flavours from the Summer Holiday range, and including this one, 3 from their popular dessert range!

It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later, as I’m certain that I’ll pick up some of their other flavours at some point in the future (there is already some that I’ve been looking at) and will of course let you good folk know what to expect from them!

Lets get on with it!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Orange Tart” by Dinner Lady.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor)

Flavour Description:

A creamy zesty orange base on a bed of sweet pastry, with a subtle hint of biscuit crunch.

The Review:

I’ve been really looking forward to this one, as I envisaged a crisp and sweet strong orange with a little pastry. Something packed full of flavour, and above all else something that I hadn’t really had before.
I definitely wasn’t disappointed, because “Orange Tart” is a sharp orange that really packs a punch, combined with a smooth cream and a light pastry base that makes for quite an interesting but tasty flavour!

Individual Notes

The orange in this flavour is a juicy, sweet, fleshy orange, I don’t notice a lot of peel, there is a little, but this is definitely more of an orange juice, or even an orange jam type of mix.

The cream is noticeable, albeit not heavily added. It’s a pretty clean cream, very similar to a sweet cream, perhaps a little bit between a sweet and a whipped cream. There is a light marshmallow feel to it.

Just like the cream, the biscuit/pastry is quite light, not the main note by a long shot. It is an unassuming light note of graham cracker, that presents itself just like a cheesecake base.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is all orange, with a little bit of cream. The orange has a little bit of zest or peel note to it on the inhale, so not quite so juicy at this point but unmistakeably orange with a little bit of a sweet sticky marshmallow feel to it.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, the orange picks up some more, changing from the zesty note that it was on the inhale, into a juicy, fleshy almost sticky orange jam. Its definitely not a fresh orange, while vaping it, it gives off a warm sweet and rich orange feel. I then notice a little bit of graham cracker coming through as a background note, combined with the orange it puts out an interesting pastry note, almost like the base of a cheesecake, a little tougher than a doughy pastry, but not quite as crispy as a baked pie.

The end of the exhale is a nice smooth mix of light pastry and cream, with a fading jammy orange note that lingers on the tongue.

Final thoughts

This juice is quite tasty, I’ve like it very much, I must mention however that this one has a decent amount of sweetener in it which in my opinion is great for the flavour, but not so great on the longevity of this juice. I found myself being a little put off by my damaged wicks giving off a really syrupy kind of vape.

Despite that, this is a unique flavour ( I dont think I’ve ever had a dessert with orange in it before! ) that is packed full of flavour, represents it’s description really well, and will keep you coming back for more.

If you’re a dessert vaper, definitely give this one a go. Don’t be afraid, thinking that it’s a fruity menthol type of juice, because that is something that it is not. This one is a dessert through and through.

Nice work Dinner Lady!

Where to Buy:

You can find the Dinner Lady ranges in most vape stores across Australia, I won’t link to them all.
Dinner Lady do have their own website, even though you cannot purchase their juices directly, they have a tonne of information available there. Go take a look! (http://vapedinnerlady.com)

Colour:

Light honey tint

Aroma:

Orange / Bakery

Coil and wick damage:

This one is on par with the summer holidays range as far as sweetener is concerned, it’ll wreck your wicks after a day or so.

PG/VG Ratio:

70% VG / 30% PG

Texture:

Sharp orange, subdued by a little pastry.

Steeping:

Steeping is a good idea with this one. It is great straight away also.

Presentation:

The Dinner Lady range all come in 60ml Glass bottles with eyedropper tips on child proof caps. They also come in tamper evident seals. Each flavour has a different coloured bottle, which is some type of powder coating. ( It does scrape off if you try. Ive been doing this so that I can see how much is left in the bottle.)
Being an eyedropper, you get the usual leaking around the rim and consequent liquid finding its way down to the base of the bottle unless you wipe it every time.

The labels are very nice looking, giving off a homey feel, with the Dinner Lady logo as well as any other information you might need.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA on Revenger mod @ 80w
