eLiquid Review 335: Legacy 650 by The Classic Vape Co

This week, I’ve got my hands on some USA juices to try. These come from a company that have impressed me before, with their great flavours, and minimal use of sweetener.

This time around I’ve got my mitts on their Classic Vape Co – Black Label range! Let’s see if they can knock it out of the park again!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Legacy 650”.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor)

Flavour Description:

A Legendary Pina Colada Vape, Minus The Hangover. Experience A Medley Of Tropical Fruits With A Smooth Coconut Exhale.

The Review:

This one confused the hell out of me at first. I don’t know why but for some reason, I had my mind stuck on it tasting like a mojito, rather than a Pina Colada. Perhaps it’s because this doesn’t immediately throw out a strong pineapple punch, instead I’m finding that it is more of a smooth light pineapple, with a wash of other fruits ( I notice some citrus ), and a sweet coconut lower note that winds it’s way into the mix gradually over the length of the vape.

Did I expect it to be different? I did, but I’m glad that it is what it is, because I didn’t expect it to be this good!

( I don’t usually like Pineapple OR Coconut! )

Individual Notes

The pineapple here is not obtrusive at all. It’s contrary to what I expected, and the opposite of many other Pina Colada flavours. It’s a lightweight pineapple that provides all of the right pineapple notes without any of the sharp, tart or overripe nuances.

Like the pineapple, the coconut is also lightweight, its not too heavy, and really is balanced well with the pineapple. It does get stronger on the exhale, but not overbearingly so, instead providing a nice base texture and thickness to the vape.
The flavourist has done a stellar job keeping the pineapple and coconut in check with this flavour.

I note that there is something else here besides the pineapple, I feel that it could be a bit of lemon or the smallest percentage of blood orange, that would explain the light tanginess that I get, an almost sherbert feel, right in the middle of the exhale.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale I’m presented with quite a smooth and lightweight pineapple, void of any overbearing or sharp notes. I notice a little bit of something in the background. It’s a sweeter fruit that compliments the pineapple and gives it a little bit of a sherbert feel. It could be lemon, or some type of citrus, it works really well.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, the Coconut kicks in, light and smooth at first just like the Pineapple, slowly getting stronger as the vape continues, before reaching its crescendo, thankfully before it becomes over the top. It’s a candy/realistic coconut mix, with a slight oily feel to it, that thickens the vape, almost mimicking a cream and providing a good base texture for the vape.

The end of the vape is a lovely mix of light pineapple, citrus notes, and that thicker coconut blending together to create quite a tasty flavour.

Final thoughts

As with all pineapples, the vape suffers a little, for some reason pineapple just does this. It kind of washes out the flavour leaving it a little one dimensional.

Obviously, this is not going to be my favourite flavour, because I dislike pineapple or coconut vapes, but The Classic Vape have done a good job of replicating a nice smooth Virgin Pina Colada offering.

If you love pineapple and/or coconut, and lighter flavours, this one will be right up your alley, and would make a great all day vape! In my opinion the flavour intensity of this one is spot on, and is right in that zone where it’s not too strong, but also keeps you wanting to vape it to get that little bit more.

Good work guys!

Where to Buy:

The Black Label range is of course available from The Classic Vape CO’s website( http://theclassicvapeco.com ), as well as from their many resellers.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Pineapple / coconut

Coil and wick damage:

No wick or coil damage that I have noticed. This is quite a clean juice and shouldn’t mess with your setup quickly.

PG/VG Ratio:

70% VG / 30% PG

Texture:

Sweet, light, and tropical

Steeping:

Steeping is a good idea with this one. It is great straight away also.

Presentation:

I received 60ml clear chubby gorilla bottles with child proof lids and needle like nibs for easy filling. The presentation of the label is a little bit classy with The Classic Vape Co logo, and imagery giving off a nice expensive vibe.
Overall some really nice presentation, with all of the information you might need.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA on Revenger mod @ 80w
