e-Liquid Review: Orange Creme from the Chocolatier Vape Co

Welcome back to another week of reviews. Last week I started on the latest flavours from The Chocolatier Vape Co, a relatively new juice range that has just been launched at the end of last month.

Anticipated to be one of the best Chocolate ranges Australia has to offer, they are the creation of Rob from Vape Vault, a man passionate about his flavours with a drive for being actively involved in this industry.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Orange Creme” from The Chocolatier Vape Co.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“The most delicate milk chocolate encasing an orange crème that is pure silk to the taste buds. After the orange bursts, you’ll be greeted by a delicate dance of vanillas and milk chocolate that will stay with you forever. ”

The Review

Sometimes you come across a flavour that gives you a description, and the second you vape it, you bask in all of that flavour glory.
Later however, when you spend a minute picking the notes and intricacies, you find that some of the notes are not very strong at all, even though your brain has registered them while looking at the profile as a whole.

Orange cream is one of those deceptive flavours. When Rob mentioned that flavour levels, in particular, the chocolate, may deviate a little between this range, he wasn’t kidding!

This is a good thing however, each has been delicately blended in order to achieve the whole, not just the parts of and that is exactly how he has achieved all of these fantastic flavours.

Think of after dinner mints. You pick one up expecting it to be lovely rich chocolate with a refreshing spearmint inside, only to discover you’ve pick up an orange infused chocolate. You’re not disappointed, but surprised that you’ve never come across this before! It’s that flavour that we’re talking about today.

” Orange Creme is a neat little blend of marshmallow and cream, a light wash of chocolate with a candy orange undertone. “

Individual Notes

Unexpectedly, the chocolate in this one is very light, relying on the creams to prop it up and the orange as a contrasting flavour, but it doesn’t need to be too strong. Actually, it really shouldn’t be. I don’t ever remember getting an overly strong cocoa kick out of an orange choc. Instead, it’s light yet creamy, with a very milky consistency, and sweet enough to stand up against the orange.

The creams that have been added to this are perfect for this profile, sweet and sticky, with a very marshmallow consistency, they bond with the chocolate and give a great backdrop for the orange.

The orange is a little difficult to describe, rather than a realistic fruit and full of citrus, this is sweeter, more candy, like an orange gummy candy. At the same time I get a very Jaffa feel to this so it could equally be an orange hard candy. It’s got a very nice tone to it, and blends well with the chocolate, not too bright, and not too dull.

Finger Test

Spot on again. On the tongue, the orange against the lighter chocolate, is just like the real thing, thick and creamy, sweet and intense with flavour. These flavours from The Chocolatier Vape Co are fantastic on the finger test, hitting their profiles perfectly, so much so, that I’m beginning to wonder if adding them to a little ice cream or thickshake might make for a tasty after dinner dessert!

Inhale & Exhale

This is thick sticky cream on the inhale. There is a real marshmallow or marzipan undertone throughout this, creating that thick and gooey, stick to the roof of your mouth type of cream. Smooth and sweet it sets the tone for what is about to come.

As the inhale continues the cream is joined by a milk chocolate note as well as a touch of candy orange. The chocolate is a little rich, not as rich as a dark chocolate but does have a slight cocoa feel to it, while the orange is a dull candy orange that is just beginning to work it’s way into the mix.

When you reach the top of the inhale, you’ll notice the orange begin to branch out a little and wash over the cream. Over the creams it has a very orange sweet sugar candy feel to it, rather than a citrus hit, which works with the lighter chocolate and allows the orange to sit side by side with the delicately balanced flavour without overtaking it.

Turning onto the exhale, the chocolate seemingly keeps the same intensity as the orange gets stronger, hitting it’s strongest point early on the exhale, and beginning to taper off. The chocolate and creams come into play again here, not instantly taking over, but gradually reinforcing themselves against the orange candy, and eventually enveloping it, bringing it’s smoother orange notes into the sticky cream and chocolate mix.

This merged blend of flavour carries on right through until the end of the exhale. Thick and creamy, sticky and sweet.

Final thoughts

This has been quite a nice flavour, very close to the real thing and a pleasure to vape. The chocolate is dialled back a little in this one, ensuring that there is no unpleasantness from overbearing chocolate.

TIP: If you want a bit more of that chocolate flavour, it stands out more in smaller chambers, tanks, subtanks etc.. A small chambered RDA will also work, but the larger the chamber, the less chocolate you’ll get.

The orange and creams work really well together and create that genuine Choc/Orange flavour similar to an orange after dinner mint, or chocolate you might get from a tray.

I’m impressed so far that this range has been quite gentle on my coils too, no real darkening of wicks and no damage to coils, they are all very clean juices for chocolate flavours!

Would I change anything here? Nope, this is pretty much spot on. About the only complaint I have is that after a while the texture gets a little too much and I feel like I need something refreshing to vape, but thats just a personal preference.

If you love your Choc Orange, you can’t go past this one. I’ve not had another this good.

Well done guys!

Presentation:

Very very impressive presentation here. The Chocolatier Vape Co have done a wonderful job on their bottles and labelling. I received 100ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles, tinted, with childproof and tamper proof seals, with a needle tip dispenser in the cap.

The labels are your usual matt labels, with each flavour sporting a different shade of colour. The branding is gorgeous with the company name and flavour name front and centre on a patterned background. There’s plenty of information here too, from ingredients, warnings, born date, size, PG/VG ratio, social media info, barcode and company details.

I love to see labels with all of that info, it shows that Aussie juice companies are serious in competing with international brands.

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
