eLiquid Review: Honey Crunch by Sydney Vape Co

eLiquid Review: Honey Crunch by Sydney Vape Co

We are getting close folks! Today’s review is the second to last of the Sydney Vape Co range of eliquids!

We’ve seen everything from fruits, to exotic desserts and they’ve all been bloody good mixes, and just to mix things up, this one is a different profile! A breakfast cereal!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Honey Crunch” from Sydney Vape Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]
“Enjoy this irresistably tasty breakfast cereal. Creamy milk with crunchy flakes of corn, encrusted with hazelnuts and coated in Australian golden honey.”

The Review

Crunchy nut cornflakes comes to mind as soon as you read that description. That is probably because that is exactly what this is!

We all know that real milk is simply impossible, but a thick creamy sweet cream is, and that’s what this base is.

“Honey Crunch” is sweet crunchy corn flakes, creamy sweet cream, and syrupy honey all blended together with a bold hazelnut for a light and smooth breakfast taste.

“Just like the real thing, you’ll get a kick out of this sugary cereal flavour!”

Individual Notes

The corn flakes are quite well done here. They come across as more of a Frosted Flakes flavour, but corn flakes all the same. Corny, malty and that’s pretty much it!

The milk is obviously going to be a sweet cream, lightly added to make sure there isn’t too much of a cream feel to it, it is smooth, thick and works well with everything else.

The honey. This really is the gem, a smooth sugary honey that blends so well with the milk and cereal. It does have a downside however. As with most honeys, this one emits a scent that others may not be to fond of. I’ll hold back on what it smells like, but if you’ve smelt someone vaping a honey flavour before, you’ll know what I mean! A slight metallic taste at first will also be present, but this disappears after vaping this for a while and getting used to it.

Hazelnut is the last ingredient, and it also works really well. Not an overpowering flavour, it adds a little nuttiness and rounds out this flavour, enhancing the corn flake notes and creating a little extra complexity.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, which is of course less intense on flavour as the rest of the vape, you’ll start off mainly with the creamy milk and honey.
It’s quite a smooth start and is equally smooth right through, slowly progressing with more intensity as you inhale. The honey soon begins to strengthen over the sweet cream as well as become quite syrupy, and reaches it’s peak right at the top of the inhale.

It’s at this point the hazelnut appears, very light of course to start and just popping out over the honey and cream, to create a slightly more complex feel, a little richness in a sea of smooth sweet cream and honey.

As you exhale, the honey, cream and hazelnut continue in a very even fashion, not really changing dynamic at all, but retaining that smoothness.
It is here you’ll notice the crunchy corn flakes come into play, slowly building in intensity, whilst always seemingly staying as more of an undertone compared to the other flavours.

It’s an instantly recognisable flavour, corny and malty, yet sugary sweet, much more like frosted corn flakes than the normal strain.

As the exhale continues, the profile stays much the same, the flavour intensity doesnt really increase at all, with the sweet cream and honey keeping things smooth, the hazelnut adding that extra something, and the corn flakes wavering in and out, as a backnote underneath everything else right up until the end of the vape.

Final thoughts

This is it, Crunchy Nut Corn flakes. It’s easily one of the most authentic I’ve tried to be honest. Every aspect is taken care of and the levels in flavouring are pretty much spot on.

The subtle toasted corn, the malt, the sweet cream and honey, all pull together to create a very nice resemblance of the real thing.

While this is pretty much a bang on flavour there is one thing that had me shaking my head a little. And unfortunately it’s one of the best and worst bits of this flavour.

The honey. As per most honey’s it has a really unusual scent, and also vapes a little strangely to begin with, giving off an acrid scent and slightly burnt metallic taste. On the flip side, once you vape this for a while, both of those things go away, and you’re left with a nice, smooth and syrupy honey that helps pull the other flavours together to work as one.

So, while this is a fantastic flavour, in the beginning you may experience some slightly harsh unusual notes, or those around you may complain about the smell. A really nice mix, but I shouldn’t have to vape a flavour a while to get rid off an odd taste.

Presentation:

As always, Sydney Vape Co, have some impressive presentation. Each bottle comes in it’s own similarly branded box. I received 30ml clear Chubby Gorilla style bottles with black child-proof caps, tamper proof ring-seal, and needle tip dispenser.

The labelling is comprehensive with juice name, respective imagery and company logo front and centre. General warnings, ingredients, bottle size, and even flavour profile are printed on the colour coded matt finish labels.

Most impressive of all is the use of “Born on” and “Batch Number” stamps. This is a great addition to any label, and builds confidence, letting the consumer know how old their bottle of juice really is.

If you haven’t seen them yet, SVC also have some fancy pants sample boxes available, so that you can try all of their flavours in smaller bottles, the whole set is only $59.99 which is some pretty great value!
