e-Liquid Review: Elaine from Aura eLiquid range

e-Liquid Review: Elaine from Aura eLiquid range

Hey guys, I’ve been vaping today’s flavour for the entire weekend since Friday morning, so I’ve had a pretty good run at it, and let me tell you this is not your normal Peach blend!

If you’re not familiar, this range, (Aura) was developed and created by the ladies of Vapoureyes, in celebration of International Women’s day. Each flavour brought to you by one of the staff members, who worked side by side with Vapoureyes’ best mixologists. The flavours are not your every day run of the mill mixes, but brought to you with a little complexity and designed to get those tastebuds going.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Elaine” from the Aura eLiquid range.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the website]

Elaine’s quick pick-me-up, perfect for a well-deserved break.
Elaine’s flavour of choice is a traditional mango bubble tea with light peach undertones, muddled with a touch of creamy milk. No need to wait in line for this one!

The Review

You’d be forgiven for thinking that this is a fairly basic flavour, because it’s just not. Some might even assume that it’s not unlike your typical peaches, thicker and creamier with no real impact. You’d be wrong again!

Because even I’m thrown by this one, and it’s flavour punch that is not only unique but dynamic and unassuming. Reckon you’ll get full on mango here? You won’t. Think this is all low down peaches? It’s not that either.

What you do get is a professionally developed flavour with intricacies, a really dynamic blend from 3 great notes that synchronise wonderfully together pulling highs and lows with a punchy middle vape.

“This is a wonderfully dynamic blend of lows and highs, there’s a lot of contrast in here with Mango and Peach fighting for the top spot, washed over with a subtle creaminess.”

Individual Notes

There are a few assorted fruits in here, and I suspect, a few more than are given in the description. It’s a lovely blend with a lot of contrast among the fruits.

Mango gets a little airplay here, with the fresh, and silky Mango flesh taking up some of the background while the riper juicy, and fruity tones add to the brightness in the mid-range. This is no candy tone, it’s all freshly sliced Mangos baby!

The peach, just like the Mango is sweet and succulent, a full flavoured Peach flesh, both juicy and robust, it’s flavour ranging in both the fore and the background, building quite a deep profile. There’s a little fuzziness around the edges which shows up in the base notes of this flavour, as well as the juicy brighter fresh fruit tones in the foreground.

Tea. I can’t say I notice this much, but there is a light green tea tone running through this flavour, it not only helps to build contrast against the sweet and heavy fruits, but adds a little brightness in that which might be an otherwise really ripe flavour.

There is a creamy note to this flavour too, to me it’s more of a very light sweet cream, not even heavy enough to get any of the usual creamy notes, but it does affect the overall profile and thickens up the texture for a silky smooth vape.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I initially notice the duller, fuller, base notes of the Mango and Peach. The fuzziness of both of these fruits, together build quite a deep profile and strength in this flavour. As I inhale, the riper, smoother notes start to sharpen up a little as some juiciness appears, and some mid-range notes begin to sweeten. Under these, a distinct green tea breaks up the sweetness building contrast with a little bitterness, freshening things up and peaking right at the top of the inhale with a lovely mid-range flavour punch.

On the exhale, that juiciness hits it’s peak early, showing you the brighter of the Mango and Peach fleshy notes, just like biting down on a spoonful of Mango/Peach fruit salad, the two fruits blending perfectly together all the while retaining some of their individual traits.

As the exhale continues, and right up until the end of the exhale, things smoothen out a little, with the cream texture washing in and the brightness of the fruits ripening into quite a silky smooth mouth feel, all the while those mid-range sweet and fresh fruity tones, blend with it to create a delicious finish.

Final thoughts

This is a Peach/Mango like no other. Often Peach or Mango flavours end up being quite dull, their flavours becoming fuzzy and your tastebuds building a bit of a resistance to their impact. Not here, this sweet blend will have you vaping it for days with no flavour loss, and that mid-range fruity hit really giving you a top notch deeper, contrasted blend of flavour.

In a tank this one shines, particularly on smaller chambered setups, for a nice dense vape. Having said that, on an RDA it’s also quite good, but I’ve found it to be much more punchy though a tank.

I did find this flavour getting a little dryer futher along in the bottle as my wicks aged a little, so there’s that to look out for, but that’s the equipment not the flavour. Keep your wicks fresh!

I don’t often take to Mango or Peach flavours, because I tend to get tired of them, but I’ve been vaping this one exclusively for about 3-4 days and it’s still going strong. The bottle is almost gone, so it’s time for the next flavour, but I could easily vape this for a lot longer without wanting to switch.

Excellent work guys!

Presentation:

Some nice artwork here. I received tinted Chubby Gorilla bottles with child proof caps and needle tip dispensers. The labels are glossy with a dark background, the Aura brand name front and centre along with the flavour name below it, easy to see. The front of the label depicting a lady sitting in the lotus position has a colour coded background where the background colour changes depending on the flavour.

On the other side of the labels is where all of the info is. Ingredients, warnings, website, manufacturer line, and barcode.
I did not see a PG/VG ratio nor a bottle size printed on the label, although this can be retrieved from the Vapoureyes website anyway.

Test rigs:

Original Haku Cruiser running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
