eLiquid Review 482: Country Gentleman from Hot Juice

Ok, this is the last of the Hot Juice flavours that I’ve got to review. The “Sweet Pop” review was postponed as I believe that I received a bad bottle, and will follow up.

The one that I am going to review today is also a completely different profile to the others that I’ve looked at so far. This one is designed for the unassuming tobacco lover. A little smoother than the usual tobacco, and boy is this one sweet!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Country Gentleman” from Hot Juice.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

[From the Hot Juice website]

Very mild taste, our mellow Country Gentleman Vape Juice tobacco flavor blend straight out of the curing house on the back forty acres. From a rocking chair on a wraparound porch, you escape the day’s heat and humidity as this vapor drifts in the cool breeze of the evening. A mellow, muted familiar tobacco flavor with an easy-going finish that doesn’t linger.

The Review

A mild taste for sure, this is definitely not your typical tobacco! More of a black honey tobacco, this is sweet, lighter on the aftertaste, and bridges the gap between tobacco and dessert.

This flavour is one to relax with, when you’re away from the family, and doing your own thing, but don’t be fooled, there’s another reason for that besides the obvious!

“Country Gentleman” is a  smooth tobacco, with strong, sweet honey overtones and a silky smooth texture.

Individual Notes

Were I a tobacco connoiseur, I’d be guessing that this is more of a pipe tobacco, a nice wet, robust tobacco, with a slightly sweet profile. There’s no harshness here, it’s not dry, nor is it overly complex, just a smooth decadent tobacco.

Accompanying the tobacco is a very sweet honey. I can only assume that a “Black Honey” concentrate was used, as it’s very very similar, noticeably sweet, and certainly not your typical tobacco.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll instantly get the Black Honey tobacco. It’s smooth and syrupy, strong, yet mild all at the same time.

As the inhale progresses so does the intensity of both the honey and the tobacco, the honey more so, with the lighter tobacco notes blending in the background.

On the exhale, be prepared for that sweet, syrupy honey to get a whole lot stronger, as it overpowers the tobacco, rendering it almost unnoticeable, a faint flicker of smokiness in the background that makes way for the very strong overlay of sweet stickiness.

Final thoughts

If you’ve ever tried Black Honey Tobacco before, you’ll know there are some pro’s and con’s to it. While it’s a smooth, sweeter tobacco. Barely a tobacco in fact. Anyone around you while you’re vaping it might not think so.

The honey element carries a not so enjoyable smell, some liken it to a burnt caramel, others more of a pungent molasses scent.

Either way, this stuff will get into your nostrils, and you won’t shake it. So beware of what you may be inflicting on family members.

Apart from that I found that this is more of a straight up honey than a tobacco. There is a tobacco in there somewhere, it’s just very light and is easily taken over by the strong caramel like honey.

It’s sweet, and strong profiled, whilst being subtle and mild on flavour, very much the type of vape that a dessert lover will like more than a fruit or tobacco vaper.

Presentation:

The presentation of these bottles are very old school. I received 30ml clear plastic bottles with child-proof white caps and needle tips.

The labels are very much an old school candy shop design, with contrasting light and dark blue areas, boxed out sections and sharp clean lines. You’ll notice the brand in big bold lettering, as well as the juice name and image that reflects the flavour, with a starburst background in matching blue tones.

There’s plenty of info on the labels, bottle size, PG/VG ratio, nicotine level, location manufactured, ingredients, nicotine and health warnings, batch ID and also a best before date.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
