eLiquid Review 481: Blueberry Waffles from Hot Juice

eLiquid Review 481: Blueberry Waffles from Hot Juice

I’ve got another Hot Juice vape review for you all today. This time around rather than a candy, or a fruit, this one is dessert based. No menthol either, just a straight up thick and warm dessert.

For anyone who has not been following, Hot Juice hail from Los Angeles, and have a tonne of flavours in their catalogue, not only the standard nicotine based e-liquids either, they also carry a range of very clean CDB juices. Their aim is to create a bunch of fantastic flavours, and provide a nice clean shopping experience, void of any of the usual cliches.

Let’s see how today’s flavour goes!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Blueberry Waffles” from Hot Juice.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

The Review

This profile is fantastic for a dessert, it’s really easy to get that nice thick and warm texture from blueberry, as it’s not as sharp or tart as it’s fellow berries, and the waffle adds even more warmth from it’s complex sweet pastry feel.

“Blueberry Waffles” by Hot Juice is a sweet, and robust pastry with dominant blueberries and cinnamon blending together to create a warming dessert vape that you can easily vape all day, enjoying those floral berries and rounded pastry and waffle baked notes.

Individual Notes

The blueberry is quite dominant, it’s definitely not a candy blueberry, more a stewed or baked blueberry, the edge is taken off of it, and it has quite a lower note to it compared to other berries. This makes it perfect for dessert use, it blends so well.

The pastry or waffles are very pastry based, very much doughy by nature, soft, warm, sugary waffles. There is quite a cinnamon feel to them too, it’s a very noticeable note, definitely not unwanted though, it’s expertly levelled out so as to not over run the pastry.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll get instant blueberry, it’s a slightly floral, yet full textured profile, very typical of a blueberry vape, and to be really honest, exactly how you would imagine this flavour to start.

As the inhale continues, you begin to notice a little pastry appear, it’s only light at this point, carrying a little cinnamon and cream with it. It teeters on the edge of pushing through as the more dominant flavour toward the end of the inhale, but doesn’t quite overtake the blueberry.

Over to the exhale, the already established blueberry and pastry is in full swing as you begin the exhale, and it carries this same blend right through until the end, really only getting slightly more intense and stronger on quite an even level all the way through. You’ll likely notice the sweetness a little more on the exhale, also the more floral feel of the blueberry.

Final thoughts

This was quite good, the blueberries work really well with the pastry, and the whole thing, really drove the profile home nicely.

I do have one gripe, it fell flat a little. While the flavours blend well and create a great profile, the whole thing seemed to just flatten out after a while vaping it. Sure, it does have a little to do with getting used to the flavour, but a good dessert, will provide that complex vape, profile and flavour consistently. Perhaps a bridging flavour may have helped, some cream, or even some vanilla. I just feel as though this might be a blueberry, and cinnamon, a little simpler than I would have liked, and definitely didn’t keep my attention for too long.

All in all though, it is a nice flavour, if you love blueberry vapes, you’ll be very happy with this one, and as any other flavour going through your rotation, you’ll likely not be as picky as I.

It does have great flavour impact, the profile is spot on, and the quality of the vape is quite good, so a good buy regardless of my more picky nature.

Nice work guys.

No damage to wicks or coils

PG/VG Ratio:

70/30 VG/PG

Presentation:

The presentation of these bottles are very old school. I received 30ml clear plastic bottles with child-proof white caps and needle tips.

The labels are very much an old school candy shop design, with contrasting light and dark blue areas, boxed out sections and sharp clean lines. You’ll notice the brand in big bold lettering, as well as the juice name and image that reflects the flavour, with a starburst background in matching blue tones.

There’s plenty of info on the labels, bottle size, PG/VG ratio, nicotine level, location manufactured, ingredients, nicotine and health warnings, batch ID and also a best before date.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
