eLiquid Review 465: Box by Hoots Premium Blends

 You’ve seen them all over social media, there are a tonne of people singing them praises, they’ve even won 1st place in the Australian Vaping Awards (People’s Choice) for several of their flavours.

This week, I’m taking a look at the range from Hoots Premium Blends!

Hoots, hail from Baldivis, just south of Perth, in Western Australia, and specialise in hand crafted, unique, premium quality eliquid, mixed and bottled in hygienic conditions in an impressive and verified Clean Room. 

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Box” from Hoots Premium Blends.

Flavour Description

Bold, sweet and crisp apple juice, just like the juice in the box! Everyone needs a good box.

The Review

Apples. They’re a crowd favourite, and always make for a great all day vape. They’re sweet yet tart, with a slight acidic nature, fleshy and juicy, it’s no wonder apple makes such a great addition to a juice maker’s arsenal!

“Box” is a sweet yet tart apple, that blurs the lines between a sharp and tart green apple, and a more traditional dryer and mealy red apple.

It’s a smooth apple vape, packed with flavour with that Fruit Juice from the box vibe!

Individual Notes

There are a few apples in here. A distinct Green apple note, sharp and juicy, a tongue curling profile that will remind you of biting into a fresh granny smith and feeling that snap as a piece breaks off in your mouth.

There is also a bit of red apple here too. It is that not quite so sweet, and slightly dry, crunchy flesh that we all know and love. It creates a great contrast, and smooths the green apple out very nicely.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is a bold hit of flavour, you can’t deny that, in fact I was a little surprised at the intensity of it this early on. It does start of as a bit of a blend of the two apples, green and red evenly mixed, but as you inhale and the flavour intensifies even more, you’ll get that very sweet and tart, sharper Green (Granny Smith) Apple at the back of the tongue, which reaches its peak right at the top of the pull.

The exhale whilst starting out with that Green Apple tartness, gradually dials down a little as the Red Apple comes through, with that slightly tannin feel, dryer, and mealy with a very full texture, filling out the flavour and developing a more robust and complex feel.

This follows through right up until the end of the exhale, where you’re left with a sweet apple after taste, juicy and a little bit syrupy, and a very fruit juice experience.

Final thoughts

This one has been very good to me, it’s been pretty warm here the last few days, and even though this has not got any menthol in it, has been a refreshing vape, that you can just pick up and go without worrying about getting tired of it. I like the Green and Red apple combination, they work well together and this juice takes advantage of the best of both worlds, sharp, tart and juicy from the Green apple, dryer and crunchy from the Red that also helps to bolster the flavour and smooth things out.

I did notice that my coil had some residue, and the top cap of my RDA had a darker tinted juice (along with darkened wick) which I can only assume is attributed to a little bit of sweetener in the apple concentrates used, in combination with the acidic nature of them also. You may have to dry burn and change out your wicks periodically.

All in all though, this is a fantastic apple flavour, that you can pick up any time and vape enjoying the fruits of Hoots hard work.

Hoots Premium Blends flavours arrived in 30ml clear plastic (PET) Chubby Gorilla bottles with the standard needle tip dispenser, and a child proof snap sealed screw cap.

The labels are a professional satin finish, black background with different coloured accents according to flavour, containing all of the information you might need. This includes, company logo, juice name, flavour description (love it when companies do this), VG/PG ratio, ingredients, zero nicotine declaration and website url.
