eLiquid Review 468: Blue Balls by Hoots Premium Blends
If you’re looking for some really nice profiles, you can’t go past this eLiquid range that I’m reviewing this week.
So far, every juice has been a little unique, not of the usual flavours you’d come across, which puts them in the great position of being somewhere you can go when you’re looking for something a little different!
From fruit juices, to candies, and even Tobaccos, Hoot’s Premium Blends have something for everybody, and from what I’ve seen so far, some top notch mixes that rival some of the best in Australia.
Today, I’ll be reviewing “Hoots Toot” from Hoots Premium Blends.

The Review
Before vaping this, I had absolutely no idea what flavour profile it might be, I hadn’t read the description at all, just cleaned out my RDA, rewicked and filled my squonk bottle.
I really didn’t know what to expect with this one. On the one hand, I thought it might be fresh blueberries and cream a thick creamy dessert based flavour, but on the other, maybe this might be a bubblegum flavour, something sweet and chewy. It’s actually neither!
“Blue Balls” is actually a sweet blueberry candy, a strong robust blueberry, with a sugary sweetness, and a musky undertone, quite floral, definitely a flavour packed profile!
Individual Notes
The blueberry here, could be a natural fruit underneath everything, it’s totally possible, but the additional sweetness turns it into a very candy-like flavour. Think blueberry hard candy, and you’re on the right track.
That clean blueberry candy note is short lived however, as there is also a musk in here too. Blueberry tends to be slightly musky anyway, but this is taking it to a completely new level. It’s a warm floral note, not quite powdery, but full textured and has a lot of body to it.
Inhale & Exhale
On the inhale, you’ll get a cleaner, and very sweet blueberry hard candy feel straight away. It’s a little floral, but not more than a blueberry normally is, and has a real candy feel to it. A hard boiled candy feel.
The blueberry is thick and robust, quite a solid flavour for a fruit, and packs a punch from the get go. This is no quiet flavour! This only intensifies as the inhale continues at hits it’s peak as you turn into the exhale.
As you do exhale, you’ll find more of that candy goodness but accompanying it with a thicker, warmer profile, some musk working it’s way through. This lifts the florals from the blueberry placing them front and center, turning this flavour very much into more of a musk candy derivative than the inhale introduced.
This continues to build and build right up until the end of the exhale, not quite reaching a point of overflavoured, but ensuring that you’re getting the strongest flavour experience possible.
Final thoughts
This is a really interesting flavour. The musk adds another dimension to the blueberry candy, it extends the blueberry’s natural florals, adding a warm tone to it, but that sharper, cleaner blueberry feel is then gone.
I think I would have liked the musk notes dialed back a little bit more, so that more of the blueberry candy was prevalent, keeping that muskiness to more of a background note, than the punch of floral that it is, but of course that is just personal preference.
The sweetness is spot on, the flavour intensity of the entire thing is at really great levels and I do have to admit that building on the floral of the blueberry with the musk is a bit of a genius move, they work well together, to create a strong profile.
If you love musk, and blueberry candy is your thing, you’re going to go absolutely nuts for this one.

Presentation:
Hoots Premium Blends flavours arrived in 30ml clear plastic (PET) Chubby Gorilla bottles with the standard needle tip dispenser, and a child proof snap sealed screw cap.
The labels are a professional satin finish, black background with different coloured accents according to flavour, containing all of the information you might need. This includes, company logo, juice name, flavour description (love it when companies do this), VG/PG ratio, ingredients, zero nicotine declaration and website url.
Test rigs:
Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
