eLiquid Review 478: Berries Galore from Contraband Vape Co

I’ve got another flavour here from Contraband Vape co for you all today. This one, another fruit based profile, is a little different to the last, not just a one flavour experience, this brings 3 different fruits together to create on intense mixed berry vape!

Let’s see how it goes!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Berries Galore” from Contraband Vape Co.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

This is definitely the most fruit filled vape juice we’ve ever created!

Berries galore has beautiful ripe strawberries, gorgeous sweet blueberries and a hint of blackberries on the exhale to bring together any fruit lovers next best all day vape.

The Review

If you’re looking for a punchy and intense flavour, you can’t go past this one. Its a mixed berry blend of strong tart strawberry, blackberry with a blueberry backnote that will have your taste-buds working overtime!

Caveat Emptor: Due to the strength of this flavour, some vapers might experience a soapy, and floral, almost medicine like taste from this mix.

Individual Notes

The strawberry while likely meant to be the main flavour, is more of a candy tone, with a sharp tartness, and very sweet body. It does get a little drowned out by the blackberry, that seems to overpower this e-liquid.

The blackberry, also a very tart profile, melds with the strawberry overthrowing it and making it take a bit of a back seat, while the florals dominate. It too is a very sharp tart flavour, with a candy feel and strong floral notes making up the body of the berry.

There is blueberry here also. While I can’t say that I notice it a lot, it digs down and provides much of the background flavour. A little duller and not as bright as the other berries, it too, has a slight floral, and a musky nature.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, you’ll be hit by the strawberry first, only a quick glimpse of it however, as the blackberry is already present, quickly blending in with it, and dominating the profile. The tartness of both of these fruits has them fighting each other, with the blackberry eventually winning and the strawberry taking more of a middle note stance, as the blackberry’s tartness and now floral mid ranges make themselves known, reaching a peak at the height of the inhale.

On the exhale, the intensity of these berries is quite strong, with the tartness having already hit it’s peak, the florals of both of the blackberry and blueberry kick in. While the musky notes of the blueberry are quite natural, the almost soapy florals from the blackberry most certainly are not, and do come across as the bi-product of over saturation. The blackberry is simply too heavy.

These florals continue on through the exhale, along with the sharper tartness from the strawberry and blackberry creating a flavour hit that really will hit you hard.

Final thoughts

This is one of those flavours that you’ll either love or hate. Unfortunately it’s not really an issue of tastes, more of how much you have. This flavour is strong, really strong.

So strong that you’ll find that if you have a delicate palate, you’ll likely cringe, confuse it with some kind of floral fruit and most likely put it down for being too overpowering. However, if you have weaker taste-buds, (for example, if you’ve just given up smoking), this might just hit the spot for you where others simply haven’t been strong enough.

This is where I’m in two minds about it. It’s a flavour that you can get used to. Even if it is a little too strong to begin with, your taste-buds eventually will lower how strong it comes across, and you’ll notice the intricacies of it. However, I also should not have to acclimatise myself to a flavour in order to enjoy it, or for it to taste like it’s description.

All in all, once you do get used to the strong flavour, this juice is quite pleasant, it has strong tart strawberry characteristics that are intensified by the blackberry, some additional floral notes that come through with the blackberry and the rounder blueberry that takes up most of the background.

If you’re looking for a strong mixed berry, this one is definitely for you!

I like the branding that Contraband has, its got an impact to it that I find visually pleasing. I received white 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with black caps, needle tips and the usual child-proof lid, and freshness seal.

The labels are very simple clear backed with black bold text, quite striking really, with brand, juice name and the Contraband website URL clearly displayed. There are no warnings, bottle sizing, ingredients, vg/pg ratios or anything else on them.

I would have liked to see a little more information on the labels.

Augvape Intake RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
