eLiquid Review 520: Basic Berries – Strawberry Raspberry by dRiip
Onto another one from the dRiip brand. This one is from their Basic Berries range.
These are travelling very well, and I’ve have to admit I’m quite impressed with the quality of this whole range as well as “Mentholicious”. Sharp but candied fruits, very intense flavour pairings with just the right amount of each flavour added.
Today, I’ll be reviewing “Strawberry Raspberry” from the dRiip Basic Berries range.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)
Flavour Description
[From the website]
“A burst in your mouth berry flavour. Lusciously lickable for a everlasting fresh vape. ”
The Review
I’m finding all of dRiip’s eliquids to be fantastic, great base flavours, blended for full intensity and a very full vape.
They all seem to be mainly focused around sweet fruits, and candy profiles which suits me because I love those!
This one in particular “Strawberry Raspberry” is a punch of Raspberry nice and low down in the profile, keeping this beast from fading, while a sweeter, candy strawberry, very tart takes up the taller part of the profile, keeping things interesting with it’s sharper fruity feel.
Individual Notes
The raspberry is quite a sweet raspberry candy. Not a very realistic berry note, more a slight floral hard candy, with a little tang to it, but more notably a bottom end flavour. The sort of flavour you might find from raspberry boiled lolly.
The strawberry here is the star of the show and without it the raspberry might be a little lifeless. It helps to lift the raspberry, with it’s taller, sharper candy note, and additional tang further giving off a very sweet candy vibe.
Think of those heart shaped hard candies, this is the strawberry that you’ll find in here.
Inhale & Exhale
The inhale and exhale are very much the same with this one. The strawberry and raspberry tie so well together, that it really is difficult to pick up on where one ends and one begins.
Having said that, everything starts off relatively light and smooth on the inhale. Sweet strawberry and raspberry candy hit your tongue, the emphasis on sweet here, and it all gradually intensifies as the inhale continues.
At the top of the inhale, where things are the most intense, you can really pick out that sharper strawberry tartness, it’s a bright strawberry candy, that puts out a little zing just as the flavour begins to pick up. You could call it a crescendo, I suppose 🙂
Over to the exhale, you’ll notice that sharp taller strawberry begin to fall back into place and the sweet raspberry appear back in the mix. It’s strength is that this solid flavour is constant, even while the strawberry takes centre stage at the top of the exhale, the raspberry consistently bolsters it, and is there when the strawberry fades, keeping the flavour intensity on par and holding this flavour up.
This sweet base note of raspberry with a touch of the left over strawberry end the vape, with a nice sticky candy finish.
Final thoughts
This one is a great little solid flavour. Nothing too complex, but a great vape all the same. dRiip have nailed the percentage of each flavour to not only blend really well, but to allow each’s strengths to shine through for quite a dynamic taste.
Pro’s/Con’s: None. This is a simple combination done right, robust, strong and is a great quality vape.
Sweet and candied, these fruits will have you vaping this flavour for days, without getting tired of it, a fantastic ‘go-to’ flavour!
Well done guys!

The presentation of these bottles is quite professional. I received tinted 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with child proof, sealed cap and needle tip. The labels are well done with colours, fruits and imagery depicted depending on the flavour with the brand, juice name and Basic Berries title prominantely displayed.
Other information on the labels includes: Additional warnings, ingredients, PG/VG ratio, bottle size, zero nicotine declaration. I like seeing all of this info on bottle labels!
