eLiquid Review 523: Basic Berries – Green Apple and Strawberry by dRiip
Whoa! Holy moly! I’m onto the last of the Basic Berries range already!
They’ve all been pretty full on flavour-wise and definitely didn’t skip a beat on intensity! Every one of dRiip’s flavours have been right at that peak of flavour strength that will really hit the spot for new and old vapers alike.
This straight up fruity range comprises of some pretty simple flavour pairings that while not over complex, have been executed very well, with full on flavour and accuracy in mind.
Today, I’ll be reviewing “Green Apple and Strawberry” from the dRiip Basic Berries range.

Flavour Description

The Review
This is another flavour packed eliquid from dRiip! It is another apple based flavour, that is not only intense but has a great tasty tang to it.
This whole profile is similar to “Lychee Blackcurrant Green Apple‘ just a little less complex, but has just as much impact.
Intense tart green apples, that sharpen over the inhale, join a sweeter, almost candy strawberry, to create a sweet and sour combination that will blow your tastebuds away!
Individual Notes
The green apple is of course the strongest note, sharp and realistic, very much that acidic and crunchy flesh, from a fresh Green Apple. It’s a clean flavour, not muddied by any skin notes at all, nor any unwanted nuances, just a straight up, clean green apple flavour.
The strawberry is lighter than the apple, but still gets a look in. It’s a little sweeter, and more candy-like than the apple, yet still hits a tart high note right at the top of the inhale. It’s masked a little by the sharpness of the green apple, but its there, and helps round out the acidity that the apple provides.
Inhale & Exhale
The inhale is all Green Apple. It’s light at first, but as the inhale continues that tart and acidic apple flesh gets more and more intense, leaving you with a very syrupy sweet yet crunchy and sharp apple flesh note right at the top of the inhale. It’s quite a hit, and reminiscent of when you bite right down on an apple and you get that flavour intensity throughout your mouth.
During the inhale, you’ll notice the strawberry as well, not a lot, and definitely not even close to the apple’s intensity. It’s a sweet much more candy like flavour than the apple, and a different tone, a deeper tone, not quite as bright.
As you exhale, the strawberry candy gets a little stronger, equalising the apple, and taking some of that sharpness away from it. This continues right through the exhale, with the vape getting more and more syrupy and candy like whilst that sharp apple becomes memory, replaced by a nicely balanced sweeter apple and strawberry combination and a finish with quite the depth of flavour.
Final thoughts
This is a very intense apple. It’s sharp, acidic and mimmicks the real thing quite well. You’ll definitely feel like you’re biting down on the real thing, and crunching down on that apple flesh goodness.
I really like how the strawberry is designed to come in part way through and act like a syrupy wash over the apple dulling it a little and balancing it with a sweeter candy strawberry, taking away it’s harshness and mellowing it through the vape.
If you’re looking for that realistic tart and acidic apple, this is your flavour, sweet and sour, tart and syrupy, a great job on a simple profile.

Presentation:
The presentation of these bottles is quite professional. I received tinted 60ml Chubby Gorilla styled bottles with child proof, sealed cap and needle tip. The labels are well done with colours, fruits and imagery depicted depending on the flavour with the brand, juice name and Basic Berries title prominantely displayed.
Other information on the labels includes: Additional warnings, ingredients, PG/VG ratio, bottle size, zero nicotine declaration. I like seeing all of this info on bottle labels!
