eJuice Review 439: Rosemary’s Baby by Vaping Mad

eJuice Review 439: Rosemary’s Baby by Vaping Mad

Vaping Mad’s flavours have been pretty awesome, I’ve reviewed four of the five that were sent through to me, which were all from their standard range. Today’s review is of a very new flavour. This is at the time of writing, unreleased, brand new, not able to be purchased. Of course by the time you read this, it will probably be out in the wild and freely available.

This one is a totally different profile than the others that I have reviewed, and is a dessert, rather than a fruit or tobacco.

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Rosemary’s Baby” from Vaping Mad
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor for review.)

Flavour Description

Since this flavour is unreleased at present, there is no official description. I’m completely in the dark as much as you are! Hang on tight while I do my best to pick this flavour apart without any idea of what it is!!!!

** This flavour has now been released ** The description reads:

A unique & complex lemon tart liquid.

A perfectly balanced sweet and tart lemon meringue curd with a wonderful rosemary infused pastry crust!

Rosemary’s Baby is a connoisseurs dream! Sweet and savoury meld beautifully together to deliver a truly gourmet vape experience. Roman Polanski would be proud!

The Review:

That’s right, I have absolutely no idea what this flavour is. There is no description, as it’s an unreleased flavour.

Having said that, as soon as you open the bottle, the scent is a total giveaway 🙂

Some might say that “Rosemary’s Baby” is a Cheesecake, others might say a Boston Cream Pie, then there are those that will straight up pick it out as a “Lemon Meringue Pie”. Well it’s not so simple as all of that, this one is a little bit of all of them!

For me “Rosemary’s Baby” is a light Lemon Meringue Pie, with hints of cookie, custard and dough. Not your conventional meringue but these additional notes are very welcome and give this flavour a little more complexity and some great solid base notes!

Individual Notes

The lemon is light, very light. It is so light that you might actually second guess that it is even there, if you are even tasting it, or is it just your imagination. I’m pretty sure it’s there, definitely not pronounced, but leaves an unmistakeable mark on the meringue, with it’s zesty sweet tones.

What can I say about the meringue? It’s very meringuey, with a meringueness to it, and a full body of meringue. No in all seriousness, it’s light and sweet with a slightly burnt note, and a stickiness to it, and thickens up the base of the vape really nicely.

There is some cheesecake and bavarian cream that ties in very nicely in this mix, the rich slight creamy tartness, and the biscuit base, create a fuller more complex feel, and really pump up the meringue.

I could swear that there is a little cookie in here. It’s a basic butter cookie note, which of course could be attributed to the cheesecake base, or perhaps the effect of the meringue on some graham cracker. It’s only light and an extra I’d imagine that has been added just to give the cheesecake base a little more strength.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale to me starts off with light instant lemon hit, gradually introducing a creamy, sticky, sweet meringue, with a hint of Bavarian cream. Giving off a great first impression, the creams blend well with that warmer sweet lemon providing that fruity tang that continues through the vape.

Over to the exhale, while the creams and lemon backnote persist, a little cheesecake is introduced. First I notice the cheesecake filling with it’s slightly yogurt feel before the biscuit base roughens things up with it’s solidness, and buttery cookie undertones.

The end of the exhale, sees the cheesecake filling fade a little while the creams and biscuit base rise to drive the vape home, with that light lemon undertone helping to keep things from getting too heavy.

Final thoughts

I think I’ve enjoyed this more than other meringues, it’s lighter, not as heavy, and in turn, not easy to get tired of. Where many have accentuated the lemon, Vaping Mad have dialed it back, and I think it works really well.

The addition of the cheesecake is brilliant, with the meringue doubling up and the biscuit base seeming to appear at just the right time and at the perfect levels.

This on is a great, really robust dessert that you can vape all day!

Great work!

Presentation:

I received 120ml smokey grey plastic bottles with long pointy tips and leak proof screw caps. The labels are fairly basic, being matt white paper labels, but there is a tonne of awesome information on them, such as “Best By” date, contact information for Vaping Mad, Ingredients, as well as a large Vaping Mad logo and name of the flavour underneath.

I really like these caps, because they seem to not leak very much, unlike other bottles, and the nozzle is small enough to fill a tank or squonk bottle really quickly without giving yourself RSI from having to squeeze too hard!

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
