eJuice Review 380: Rollie by The Barton Vape Co

If you’ve not ever tried The Barton Vape Co’s range and you’re into a little bit of a tobacco vape, you’re missing out. I’m seriously impressed with their tobacco flavours so far!

I’m sure you’ve all bought a tobacco vape with the hope that it might be at least somewhat similar to the smoking experience, but were left severely disappointed.

You won’t get that with this range. Delicately mixed with attention to detail and their eyes on the prize, The Barton Vape Co have not compromised on their promise to provide the best tobacco flavours possible!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Rollie”.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Pure, robust full flavoured pouch tobacco at its best!

The Review:

It’s funny, when I first tried this one, I had convinced myself that what I was vaping, tasted nothing like roll your owns. Of course I was completely wrong and realized that I’d been expecting something along the lines of what most eliquid vendors supply as a “Rollie” flavour. That usually consists of a really strong wet tobacco flavour that smacks you in the face with a mix of honey tobacco and pipe tobacco nuances smashed together.

Instead, “Rollie” by The Barton Vape Co is a dialed back, realistic tobacco flavour, with hints of rich pouch tobacco. It has a slight sweetness and a smokiness on the exhale, providing quite a genuine “Rollie” tobacco feel.

Individual Notes

There are a few different notes here, and while I do have a really good sense of taste, and various nuances, I won’t pretend to guess them all.
I notice a quick virginian tobacco flavour initially, with a deeper, richer pouch tobacco coming through midway through the vape.
A drier, more smokey texture and feel shines through eventually, providing a really nice range of notes blended brilliantly.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale, I instantly get a hit of a slight grassy note that quickly dissipates, as soon as I get wind of that pouch tobacco aroma coming through. It’s a quick switch, and you may not notice it. This richer loose tobacco flavour begins to intensify slowly as the inhale continues.

The turn of the inhale is where the rollie flavour is most dominant, it reaches a crescendo at this point showing it’s complete richness with the aroma of fresh loose tobacco, and a toasty texture that makes the tongue curl with that familiarity.

The exhale switches this flavour around a little from it’s rich pouch tobacco notes, to a smokier, slightly drier texture, that really does emulate smoking quite well, finishing off with a little of that toasty flavour and texture coming back to blend with the dry smokey mouth feel.

Final thoughts

This is probably the best “Rollie” flavour that I’ve tried, and my favourite from these guys so far. Instead of dominating the tastebuds with a gamut of different tobaccos, The Barton Vape Co have purposely dialed things back, to provide you with a really smokey vape with backnotes of rich pouch tobacco, consisting of various different nuances that come into play throughout the vape.

I’ve been vaping this non-stop for the last 2 days, and in all seriousness, have had no wanting to change out to something else, which is a very very good sign, specially for a tobacco flavour!

Fantastic work on this one guys!

Presentation:

I’m really liking the clean professional presentation of The Barton range. It’s straight to the point, clear and concise, and visually appealing. I have right here, 30ml black tinted LDPE bottles with child-proof cap and needle tip dispenser. The labels are professionally printed, with a different pattern for each flavour, the Barton Vape Co logo front and centre, as well as the juice name, and the words “Ready to Vape”.

As for information on the labels, they have the usual stuff, but a little more interesting, this is the first time I’ve come across an Aussie vendor going to the trouble of mentioning nuts, soy and dairy. Specifically, “May contain traces of tree nuts, soy and dairy”.
If indeed many eliquids “could” contain any of these things, this should be on every bottle from every vendor. Great work on that guys.

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
