eJuice Review 377: Replicant by Outrun Vape

What a week! I have to say, reviewing Outrun Vape’s line of eliquids has been an absolute pleasure! Every single one of their flavours is well thought out, expertly mixed and really tasty.

Sadly, I’ve come to the end of the reviews, today’s will be the last. With bad news comes good though, Outrun Vape are about to release a bunch of new flavours, which undoubtedly, I’ll get my grubby little mitts on soon enough!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Replicant” by Outrun Vape.
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Some would call this sweet dessert flavour a pale imitation. Even more say its decadent berries baked in a delightful pie crust are a vast improvement.

The Review:

I am so totally pleasantly surprised at Outrun Vape’s commitment to normalising their flavour intensity, every single one of their juices is packed with flavour, yet doesn’t over do it. Getting these levels right isn’t easy, and takes a lot of testing. Not to mention getting all 5 flavours to similar impact levels. Truly professional.

This one is “another” flavour that just sings.

SImilar to “KITT” but with raspberries instead of lemon, “Replicant” is a sweet raspberry pie, with freshly stewed sweet raspberries, and a sweet pie base that supports them perfectly.

Individual Notes

It feels like there are a couple of different raspberries in here, I notice a really sweet, almost raspberry jelly candy flavour in this when taste testing, as well as a slightly tarter realistic raspberry falling in hiding in the background. They work really great together, creating a depth of flavour straight off the bat, an almost raspberry relish or warm raspberry sauce, with a slight candy flourish.

The pie crust or pastry here is also sweet, it’s not a savoury flavour, but also not a sugary sweet one either. Instead, it focuses on providing a thicker more grounded texture while the raspberries take care of the sweetness. This pastry, just like the one used in “KITT” is a cross between a biscuit and a shortbread, light and sweet, a little buttery and smooth.

Inhale & Exhale

On the inhale the raspberry dominates, actually it dominates pretty much throughout the entire vape, but they are more exposed on the inhale, where there are no hints of the pie crust.
They change profiles a little, from candy to relish, to a warm sweet raspberry pie sauce in quick succession, all during the inhale.

Over to the exhale, the raspberry sauce/relish is thick and flavoursome, but through this rich raspberry comes some pastry notes. The pastry/pie notes are on the lower end of the scale, not tall notes, but rather more a base note that provides some support and weight to this flavour, anchoring the raspberry and giving it something to contrast against.

Its a sweet yet light biscuit/pastry note, you wont taste it so much as feel it’s texture, but when you do, you’ll admire it’s use. Rather than hammering you with the pastry notes, Outrun have chosen to have it play on you in the background, creating more depth and volume.

At the end of the exhale, the pastry and raspberry play in unison to create a rich, sweet raspberry pie that you won’t soon forget.

Final thoughts

This is a great flavour, definitely one of my favourites from the Outrun Vape range. This juice has quite a strong character, and a real depth to it, that you can’t be anything but impressed with it.

If you’re a dessert vaper, this one is all day vape material. Absolutely delicious.

Presentation:

I love Outrun Vape’s branding. I don’t often approach vendors and offer to do reviews, but I just couldn’t help myself with Outrun. Their branding has a really cool retro/futuristic style with neons and pre millennium film references.
I received black plastic unicorn bottles with child-proof caps, needle tip dispenser, with really cool retro labels. The labels have all of the information you’ll need on them including: PG/VG ratio, juice name, logo, warnings, even an 18+ R Rating!

Test rigs:

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 framed staple coil on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA with a 0.2ohm Stainless coil running @ approx 50-80 watts.
