eJuice Review 376: KITT by Outrun Vape

Yes, I know, I only just put the last review up yesterday, so you’re probably wondering why this one is going up so soon. Well, in fairness, I’ve had this in a secondary setup for a few days now, and I’m kind of forced to put the review up a little early, because there isn’t much left!

I’ve found that Outrun Vape’s flavours have not only impressed, but really set a benchmark for other brands to aspire to. Their desserts have a great depth to them, and their professionalism shines through in their attention to detail and their understanding of individual flavour intensity levels.

This is another flavour testiment to their juice making prowess, full flavoured, with a thick texture and a depth that just has you wanting more!

Today, I’ll be reviewing “KITT” by Outrun Vape.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Zesty lemon custard resting between fluffy meringue and a shortbread base. An ostentatious delight befitting the Knight Rider.

The Review:

I’ve quite enjoyed this one, “KITT” is one of those desserts that you keep going back to, an almost fall back flavour, for when you just want a really good vape.

It’s a good, solid, all round flavour that satisfies, no unwanted notes, or bad flavours, just a nice thick dessert that hits the right spot.

“KITT” is a zesty lemon meringue, very cheesecake-like, with light bakery/biscuit notes and a dose of creamy custard.

Individual Notes

This one contains the usual suspects.

It starts off with a zesty lemon, not really sour, definitely lemon, just not overly indulgent. It’s a nice change from other lemon desserts that can be really brutal.

The meringue is quite light, very marshmallow like, airy and sweet. It blends with the custard a lot, so that they more or less create the one flavour, rather than keeping their individual profiles. They are a great pairing and you’ll end up with a fluffy sweet cream, with vanilla notes, a little richness, as well as a slightly sticky feel.

There is also a biscuit base here, almost a breadcrumb, just like the meringue, it is light, and doesn’t really push it’s presence forward, instead acting more as a bridge, or support note that helps lift up the flavour without it being consumed by it.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale of “KITT” is all lemon, it’s zesty, and a little creamy. It’s not like a sharp fresh sour lemon, more along the lines of a lemon mixed with a little cream, or custard. A lemon sauce if you will.

This thickens up a little as the inhale continues, resulting in a nice sweet, yet citrus fresh mouth feel.

At the turn of the inhale and onto the exhale, the lemon and creams thicken up and intensify, really building up to quite the impact of flavour. Definitely not over-bearing, it’s smooth and flavoursome, yet light and clean.

The lemon changes a little, and the zest and cream, mingle some more to create a cheesecake vibe. It’s not full on cheesecake but reminiscent of it, and it’s difficult not to see the similarity.

Things start to pick up now that I notice the base come through. The biscuit or shortbread base is also very similar to what you would get in a cheesecake, although this one is a little lighter than you’ll get in most cheesecake vapes. It’s not quite a biscuit, not quite a dough, somewhere in between, and even though it is not really strong, it adds a certain texture to this juice, thickens it up a little, and adds a little more complexity and depth.

The vape finishes off as a wonderful mix of all of these flavours delicately playing against each other, and finding their place. The lemon and meringue definitely the more primary flavours with the cream/custard and shortbread falling in as background notes completing the flavour and really rounding things out.

Final thoughts

Another brilliant job by these guys, what a great run of flavours. I think this one is one of my favourites so far, I’ve noticed myself reaching for it quite often the last few days, and just wanting to get another hit of that complex and dense mix.

A lemon thats not only ‘not over-bearing’ but everything else is just layered in perfectly.

Dessert vapers, this one is a must try.

Presentation:

I love Outrun Vape’s branding. I don’t often approach vendors and offer to do reviews, but I just couldn’t help myself with Outrun. Their branding has a really cool retro/futuristic style with neons and pre millennium film references.
I received black plastic unicorn bottles with child-proof caps, needle tip dispenser, with really cool retro labels. The labels have all of the information you’ll need on them including: PG/VG ratio, juice name, logo, warnings, even an 18+ R Rating!
