eJuice Review 337: Platinum Chalice (Black Label) by The Classic Vape Co

It’s pretty clear now that The Classic Vape Co’s range is well aligned to Australian, UK and New Zealand tastes, not only tastes but also flavour intensity, and their minimalist approach to using sweeteners.

Today I’m onto the 3rd flavour in their “Black Label” range, which so far has been a mix of complex fruit flavours that are great to vape all day, whilst still being packed with flavour. Quite a tasty range!

Today I’ll be reviewing “Platinum Chalice”.

Flavour Description:

Seize The Day With A Mouth Watering Fuji Apple, Sweet Watermelon, and a Hint Of Key Lime To Round Out This Succulent All Day Vape.

The Review:

I wasn’t sure if this flavour would work so well, but it totally does. The flavours match really well, complimenting each other, as well as giving off a nice rounded and balanced feel. “Platinum Chalice” is a full textured mix of soft sweet apple and watermelon candy, accentuated and balanced by a hint of key lime!

Individual Notes

The apple here is not your usual tart and crisp apple, it’s not a warm stewed apple either, picture a red or yellow apple, not so juicy, a little overripe, with a very light powdery texture to it. It’s that type of apple. Sweet with minimal tartness.

The watermelon is not a realistic watermelon, more a watermelon candy, the type that you get in jelly candy style, with sugar sprinkled over it. There isn’t any of that sweet rind flavour, its more of an artificial watermelon flesh note.

What can I say about the Key Lime?! Everyone knows this nuance, it’s bright yet, more a full flavour than a lemon would be, which makes it a perfect match to mix with watermelon and the more full bodied apple. It brightens without complicating, and helps blend the watermelon and apple together.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is mostly apple, with a hint of watermelon shining through, not really noticeable but it is there. The apple is quite tangy, not your usual green apple, more of a yellow delicious or a floral Fuji Apple, its soft without being overly tart or bright.

On the exhale the watermelon intensifies adding a background fullness, and further extending that soft apple note through the vape with it. The watermelon, isn’t a real watermelon, rather more of a candy, very much like a watermelon jelly candy.

As the exhale continues, I notice a little bit of a bite thats quite citrus like, which I attribute to the key lime. It works quite well, against the duller full bodied apple and watermelon notes, and brightens the vape adding another dimension and balancing out the other flavours.

Final thoughts

An interesting vape, not my favourite, but if you’re a watermelon fan, this one will be perfect for you. The Fuji apple really works well with the candy watermelon, creating a full bodied candy-like mix. This is another one from The Classic Vape Co that has a spot on flavour intensity, not too bold, yet flavoursome enough to keep me interested.

I can’t help thinking that this might benefit from a little menthol or cooling agent, just to give it that little extra kick, but all in all quite a nice juice!

Well done guys.

Colour:

Clear

Aroma:

Apple / Watermelon

Coil and wick damage:

No wick or coil damage that I have noticed. This is quite a clean juice and shouldn’t mess with your setup quickly.

PG/VG Ratio:

70% VG / 30% PG

Texture:

Sweet, sticky with a light fizzy feel

Steeping:

Steeping is not necessary with this one.

Presentation:

I received 60ml clear chubby gorilla bottles with child proof lids and needle like nibs for easy filling. The presentation of the label is a little bit classy with The Classic Vape Co logo, and imagery giving off a nice expensive vibe.
Overall some really nice presentation, with all of the information you might need.

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.18 AK coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
OBS Engine RTA on Revenger mod @ 80w
