eJuice Review 347: Pavlova Parfait by Sydney Vape Co

eJuice Review 347: Pavlova Parfait by Sydney Vape Co

I’ve been suitably impressed by the last few flavours that I’ve tried from Sydney Vape Co. They’ve been tasty profiles, and I can tell that they put their heart and soul into their recipes. The attention to detail is hard to miss.

This one is the first of their more dessert oriented flavours. It’s a new take on an Aussie favourite and definitely one you should try.

Today I’ll be reviewing “Pavlova Parfait” from Sydney Vape Co
(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description:

Dessert on the go – the classic Australian pavlova with a parfait twist. Enjoy layers of meringue, thick cream, berries, kiwi and passionfruit.

The Review:

Pavlova’s are tough. Really tough. Every region has a different topping, and every topping is done differently. About the only thing that remains constant is that there is some form of fruit on top, with a meringue base and whipped cream somewhere in the middle.

I’ve had horribly burnt meringue pavlovas, brilliantly blended fruits over perfectly whipped cream pavlovas, and everything in between, and the only thing flavour-wise that is shared among them all, is the meringue and cream.

It’s a unique combination but works so well, in both texture and taste, so which one is the best? Impossible to say. Everyone’s mum makes the best Pavlova!

Today’s review takes the pavlova a little step further, into Parfait territory.

Traditionally a Parfait is a whipped cream mix of fruits and yoghurts that are served in a short glass, tumbler or parfait bowl.

Sydney Vape co have taken the idea of the traditional Parfait, but smashed up a Pavlova, added some extra whipped cream and dumped into a Parfait glass. A Pavlova Parfait!

Individual Notes

There’s a few things going on in this juice, but you’ll primarily notice the whipped cream first and foremost. Its silky smooth, thick in texture and provides the base for this whole flavour.

The fruits used in this pavlova, aren’t typically what I would expect, but like I said before, Pavlova’s differ immensely. This one consists of mixed berries (who knows which ones, strawberry I believe, your guess is as good as mine), Kiwi fruit, and Passionfruit.

The meringue is also quite a dominant note, not so dominant as to say that it takes over, but it is consistent with the cream, blending with it quite nicely, but also adding a little bit of a marshmallow note, and providing and even thicker texture to the vape.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is of thick whipped cream, blended with light strawberry and kiwi, it’s a gentle introduction to the flavour, but not unexpected. The strawberry and kiwi, are mixed effectively, not having either dominate over the other, the whipped cream knocks the sails out of the tartness of both fruits allowing them both to cohabitate without either ruining it for the other.

The exhale brings with it the meringue which doesn’t really make an appearance on the inhale. It’s lightweight, and provides a marshmallow feel against the cream. The meringue crunch isn’t here but you get the feeling that its going to appear soon, but then it just doesn’t 🙂 The fruits pick up a little on intensity, as does the cream, but there is one more addition here that you’ll not have noticed before.

There is a touch of passionfruit coming through mid vape. Yep, its a light yet unmistakeable passionfruit taking up the middle range of the flavour and providing both a bridge for the other flavours to blend together better, but also an extra opportunity for a little extra layering. The passionfruit adds a slightly deeper note to the mix, creating a little more complexity and really rounding things out.

The end of the exhale is a mix of light fruits, and strong whipped cream, with a light meringue flowing through everything.

Final thoughts

This is a really nice, fresh dessert, not weighed down with too many ingredients, and not too rich that you might get tired of it. Instead it is still somewhat lightweight so that you’d be happy to vape it all day, whilst still carrying a little complexity to satisfy the flavour chasers amongst you.

I like that Sydney Vape Co have decided to not go with the traditional Pavlova, but switch things up a bit with the Parfait idea. In my opinion, it’s worked perfectly, and adds another great flavour to their already wonderful range.

Well done on this one!
