eJuice Review 363: Okami by Secret Bunker Vapour

I’ve been chomping at the bit to try today’s juice. If the previous flavours from Secret Bunker Vapour are anything to go on, this one should be brilliant.

Plus I really love raspberry vapes 😀

Today, I’ll be reviewing “Okami” by Secret Bunker Vapour.

(This eliquid was supplied by the vendor.)

Flavour Description

Cherry and Raspberry jam as made by grandma with a family secret recipe passed down from every generation. Using the most ripe plump red Cherry and most gentle softest Raspberry picked from the country garden.
While she was closing the lid a small Hibiscus flower got carried in by the fresh gentle wind through the window and sneaked in to the jar.

The Review:

Okami is not your usual run of the mill raspberry. Secret Bunker don’t muck around when it comes to flavours, and it shows with this raspberry and cherry pairing.

Not content with a sweet raspberry jam, a touch of Cherry creates a slightly deeper flavour, a deeper fruit if you will, with it’s rich fleshy notes. To top this succulent mix off, a hint of hibiscus floats across this jam flavour adding a slight floral and interesting twist!

Individual Notes

The raspberry here is quite sweet, a real jam like flavour, realistic, yet preserved, not a fresh tart raspberry, but a stewed, smooth raspberry with quite a deep flavour, both of raspberry flesh and a little skin.

Adding to this sweet jam is the cherry, a real fleshy note, void of any skin notes, that deepens this flavour even more, giving it a little bite, and a slightly fresher feel.

The hibiscus is an unusual choice, slightly floral, it washes over the raspberry and cherry taking away some of the deepness and adding a little dryness.

Inhale & Exhale

The inhale is all raspberry, at this point it’s quite sweet and robust, an instant raspberry hit, like thick warm jam on your toast.

At the height of the inhale a little cherry kicks in with it’s sweet flesh notes deepening the jam flavour and creating quite a full texture and juicy profile.

Onto the exhale, the raspberry and cherry intensify whilst a wash of light hibiscus appears, a little floral note on the nose, creating another level of complexity that keeps you guessing, never quite putting a finger on what that flavour is.

Toward the end of the exhale, the juiciness makes way for a little dryness that comes from the hibiscus and raspberry finishing off the vape with a really full flavour and a very interesting after taste.

Final thoughts

This one really is a kick-arse flavour, and I’ve enjoyed it very much. It’s all pro’s here except for one con. There is a dryness here that I think could be minimised a little, it isn’t a problem on first vape, but after you vape it for a while, you begin to notice it more and more. I know that raspberry tends to do that to flavours, and I suspect that the hibiscus also may have had a hand in it too, but countering it with something that added a little bit of moisture would have pushed this juice up to a whole new level and would have made this pop even more!

Overall, a very nice juice, it’s tasty, and the flavour levels are great, punchy but not overbearing, a brilliant pairing!

Nice work on this one!

Where to Buy:

This is currently a pre-release juice. Not available as yet in any stores. If you’re really keen on giving the Secret Bunker range a try, and you’re in Sydney, you can head down to Regency Vapour in Chippendale, for some pre-release tastings.

Secret Bunker are planning on having a pre-release limited run sale very soon also. So keep you’re nose on social media and also on their website (https://www.secretbunkervapour.com.au) and wait for the drop, no doubt it will sell out quick.

Great presentation here from Secret Bunker Vapour! I received 100ml clear Chubby Gorilla bottles with child-proof caps and needle tip dispensers. The labels are large and great quality and glossy, with the juice name, size, warnings and PG/VG ratio printed on them. As well as the label, Secret Bunker use an authentication sticker which also has the batch code printed on it, so you can be sure of not only getting the genuine item, but if something is wrong, can quote the batch number and Secret Bunker will get to quickly fixing any issues that may have occured.

Haku with slam cap running a single 0.17 ET coil from “Bombers Coils” on a mech mod.
